Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Notebook

I should be complaining about all the problems but don't have the time for all of them. For right now though. I just was on hold for over 20 minutes to get what should have been a simple answer, but then got cut off. So much for my cell phone minutes! Here's my question. I scheduled a service visit because the system is not picking up the local channels. The visit was suppose to be today after 2pm. The service person showed up at 9:30 this morning, while I was at work. Left a message on my son's phone. I called to find out why he showed up early and when is he suppose to be back. I didn't get an answer. The phone number on the account is 541 995 8144 Courtney Houghton. It would be nice if someone would call me back to let me know what is going on. My phone number is 541 221 3159. If there is indeed 157 experts online then I should get a phone call soon, we'll see.

Print screen

Try scanning it with free version of RadarSync (driver updater) so that you will know if the driver is out-of-date. Out-of-date drivers especially the keyboard will cause a lot of problems.

My acer Aspire 7551 will not boot up, when i turn it on it says press F2 for settings?

I am no tech and don't say this is the way to FIX the prob but I was having major issues getting my ASUS to "waike up" after leaving on into hybernation or sleep. I could try 6-10 times but it would always hang at the ASUS screen and after a few minutes "ding" again like it was trying to restart. I then would have to hold power key down until it shut off agin, retry and retry. NOW.. I have the printer on before I hit power button and right after I do, I turn the power off to the printer - Canon MX860...I guess it somehow forces the computer do something but the bottem line is it has worked every time. If I power down the computer, have not yet had any probs starting it back up. Hope it helps though I am sure there is a "right" way to fix

Can you hear any fan or drive sounds? If you don't hear anything at all when you try to turn the laptop on, no little LED's light up, the problem almost certainly isn't related to the hard drive. So if you don't have a live screen, start with the LCD troubleshooting flowchart, and if you don't have any activity at all, start with the power troubleshooting flowchart. Even if the hard drive has failed at the electro/mechanical level and won't spin up, this wont prevent the LED's on the laptop from lighting up, or the LCD from displaying the BIOS information and complaining about the lack of a boot device.

Time and date are not set correctly

When the Date and Time is set in the BIOS setup or in Windows and when you boot up next time and the date and time are incorrect then the problem is a flat BIOS battery. A flat BIOS battery cannot keep the Data and Time stored in the BIOS. Replace the BIOS battery and set the Date and Time etc and the problem will be fixed.

Well, my Netbook scrolls down randomly. Either up or down. No matter what I do it won't stop, I usually bang on the directional keys and it does stop for a short period. I really don't want to keep...

Sticky keys might be the problems.
1.Press SHIFT 5 times repeatedly
2.Cleanup the touchpad on the right corners ( unit OFF )
3.Seem the PgUp and PgDn keys STICKY >>> try clean it with a dry soft brush

Computer keep saying "configuring update 3 of 3"

Power off the machine (hold down the power button for over 3 seconds), and restart it, but press the F8 button to go into Safe Mode. Use the system restore option to go back to a time before the update was installed (exact procedure alters based on your OS)

I would wait a good 10-20 minutes before going this route though, just in case the update IS installing, but being slow.

There was a powercut whilst I was at lunch and my laptop was connected via the mains only. When I restarted Excel 2007 complained of memory problems and failed to complete loading. It was fine this...

Are you opening a an excel file and excel crashes or are you opening up excel by itself and it crashes?
If your opening a file then it's most likely corrupted. If it's just excel that is crashing then you might have some files that got damaged during the power outtage. To fix that problem close all your applications, go to my computer, right click on C drive, properties, tool, error checking, check now, click both options and click ok. It might ask you to reboot. If excel doesnt' work after that you will have to reload MS office. Your file system will be fixed though.

I had this problem assuming that it is the same. Possible solution, (worked for me); With Laptop unplugged, hold down 0, (Zero), key for 30 seconds. At the end of 30 seconds keep holding 0, (Zero), key down and plug in and press the power button.
*I had to press power button a 2nd time*
Computer powered on and booted, though it took nearly 20 minutes for me to get a boot screen for windows; I could only get a choice for Bios. But aftr about 20 minutes of just waiting the Boot screen changed to the normal Boot Menu and I was able to get Back into Windows no problem.
I think I tracked the issue down to a Windows update, but a still trying to define which one specifically.
