Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I am trying to make a poster on my home computer, using a program called PrintMaster Gold Deluxe. I have the same program at school, bought at the same time, but there seems to be a problem. Some of the pictures on my home computer look like they are made with bigger boxes than the ones at school. Could it be pixels? Could I do something to fix it? My computer at school is 95 and my home computer is 04 if that would help.

It shows better, finer, on the older computer at school than my newer on at home. When I cut the picture and paste it into paint to change color or add something it is still chunkier on my home computer. When printing it out, again it is chunkier on my home printer and much finer on the school computer. It seems as though the pictures at school are made out of 1/64 inch squares and on my newer computer at home has them 1/16 inch square which when printed, it makes it more difficult to recognize the details in the picture. I know this because I made the poster at school but was out of the red color ink when I printed it. It was easy to see all details all but faint in color. So, I had to remake the same poster at home doing everything the same and it is all chunky and difficult to tell what some things are.

They look different most likely because of your screen display. YOu have to adjust teh resolution of the computer ( Limited by hardware) Right click on the desktop then click properties you can adjust teh resolution there.

I hope this has answered your question sufficiently. If you have more questions please post a reply. Thanks.

If that is the case then it is quite possible that the resolution on your home computer is very much lower. Its possible it may be a driver problem as well. Update the driver of your printer at home.

Increase resolution

The poster resolution and the computer resolution are completely separate. The cpt resolution controls the monitor screen display. The poster resolution refers to the camera pixels used in recording the original picture - it cannot be increased. The poster program is measuring the resolution of the file picture only and indicating that t will produce a blurry poster.

How do I unlock a stolen computer?

The school cannot 'block' the computer. If you are asking how to get round a password, so you can use a stolen computer, you are on the wrong site. That is a criminal activity. You would be far better contacting the school and telling them you bought it innocently.
If you bought stolen property you should be trying to get your money back from the seller. Apart from that, are there no police where you live? They are the ones that are interested in people that sell stolen property.

I installed my Printmaster 8.0 on my system that has windows 7 os. It installed, but every time I try to open a graphic it says"Printmaster is shutting down" and does. What can I do?

Uninstall the program, then re-install it. Make sure there are no other programs running that would slow down or affect the installation. Close all web browsers, IM programs, other printer programs etc.
Once you have uninstalled the program, restart the computer, make sure any un-necessary start up programs are not running, then re-install the program.
If this does not fix the issue, I suggest contacting the copyright company (creator of the program) and inquiring with them.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I have Printmaster 10 and 17. On 10, I can print to the edges of the labels and others things, on 17 I can't. I know that I reconfigured 10 to do this, but it was years ago and I can't remember the step...

Custom Paper Wizard PrintMaster® 17 Gold and Platinum include a Custom Paper Wizard that allows you to add new or unsupported paper stock to PrintMaster® for printing labels, stickers, envelopes, half-fold greeting cards, note cards, business cards and postcards. The remainder of this note describes how to use the Custom Paper Wizard. Follow the procedure below to add a new or unsupported paper stock to PrintMaster® 17 Gold or Platinum using the Custom Paper Wizard.

NOTE: The options that appear in the Custom Paper Wizard vary depending on the project type for which you are creating new paper stock.
  1. In the PrintMaster® Design Workspace, click Tools from the menu bar, select Custom Paper Wizard and click New Custom Paper. The Custom Paper Wizard window will open.
  2. In the Select Stock Type: list box, select the appropriate project type (Label, Sticker, Business Card, Envelope, 1/2-Fold Greeting Card, Note Card or Postcard) and click Next.
  3. If creating a Label or Sticker paper stock, select the label type. An example of the selected label type will appear on the right.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the screen that appears, select the similar stock type and enter the paper height, width and margins (if instructed to do so).

NOTE: The Example box at the bottom of the Custom Paper Wizard window will explain what information is needed for the selected field (e.g., Paper Width, Left Margin, etc.) with both text and a diagram. The Example box on the left side of the Custom Paper Wizard window will show an example of the new paper stock as the fields are completed.

  6. Depending on the paper stock, the "Contains mid-page perforation" box may be active. If the paper stock that is added has a mid-page perforation, click once in the empty box to check it.
  7. Enter a Name for the new paper stock in the Name of stock: field and click Next. This name will identify the added stock type and will appear when creating a new project (e.g., Label, 1/2-Fold Greeting Card, etc.).

NOTE: If adding a new paper stock for an Envelope project type, click Finish. A message will appear indicating that the new stock has been added. Click OK. The new envelope paper stock can be used when creating a new Envelope project.

  8. The next screen or screens that show will depend on the project type for which the new paper stock is added. Enter the needed information and click Finish. A message will appear stating that the new paper stock has been added.
  9. Click OK.
  10. To access the new paper stock, create a new project that uses the stock type (Label, 1/2-Fold Greeting Card, etc.) and select the name of the new stock entered in Step 7 (above) from the available stock list.
NOTE: If the paper stock that is added does not display in the list, click or go to Custom Paper Stock Does Not Display (Technical Note ID: 43399) for additional information.

Using the Custom Paper Wizard Tutorial

I just installed PrintMaster Gold version 18 into my computer with Windows Vista. All I can do is get the screen that wants me to set my screen resolution so my screen is huge! I cannot deal with that and...

This program I just purchased is Print Master Gold Version 18. I cannot get the program to work AT ALL!
It asks me to set my screen resolution so the print and graphics are very very large and I cannot access commands such as "apply", etc. If I decline to have the screen resolution changed, then the program just shuts down and I cannot get it to work at all!
I do not feel that I should have to pay for support on this problem, but I do feel that I should get positive help!
Thank you.

Today I installed Hallmark Card Studio 2008 Deluxe which consists of 5 disc. I can get the calendar but am unable to get any cards. What do I have to do to get the cards displayed?

I took the Hallmark Card Studio discs back and went to Best Buy and got PrintMaster. The strange thing is that the Hallmark disc with the cards didn't take. It seemed that the 5th disc went in spurts instead of a steady whir. The events calendar is on the computer. In fact both of the icons are on the desktop. OfficeMax asked me to remove the program and start over. This I did with the same results. It just didn't open up. Now the PrintMaster FunHouse etc. came on but the cards won't open up. So I am using an old Hallmark disc with Greetings 2000 and that works good. I don't have any idea why it won't take. Someone suggested that the drive was defective but then why do some take and not others? Any ideas?
