Hi, I don't know if it's the same problem that I had with my Roomba, but it sounds very similar. It was a broken wheel drop sensor (switch) on on wheel. I ordered one from EBay for $4.00, and had it running again like New.
it could be the wiring coming from the vacuum itself you might have to change it.can be brought at any electrical wire store have you checked the plug wiring is it all intact or has some came out from the terminals?
Most power inverters are strictly single-phase. Meaning true 120V or 240V, and no splitting or duplication. It sounds as if your inverter is a single phase 120V, and likely is not stackable on the AC side.
I recommend looking for a Low Frequency Split Phase power Inverter if you want both 240 and 110 volts.
I think you mean 220 volts, versus 220 watts. The difference between 220 & 240 volt equipment is usually just a matter of nomenclature -- no significant difference in terms of operating the equipment.
The vacuum is 110 / 120 volt since it has an "American" plug on it. If the plug is swapped for an "Australian" plug (or adapted) and plugged into the wall, the vacuum will be connected to 220 volts -- this would destroy the motor.
You would need a transformer to step down the Australian voltage to 110 / 120 volts. If you plug it in without a transformer, it will surely burn up the motor.
If the sewing machine came from a forigen country, Check radioshack. They might have an adaptor there. but be ready to spend some $. but if it is an industrial sewing machine, have an electrician put in a 220 volt outlet. Don't cheat. Your home will be put at risk from fire.
The conversion of Amps to Watts is governed by the equation Watts = Amps x Volts
For example 1 amp @ 110 volts = 110 watts your case 7 amp @ 120 volts = 840 watts unless you are running it at 230v but I don't think you can I would look for one rated for Volt-Amps instead of watts It's best to round up to be safe add 40 - 60 watts
sounds like the motor burned up. not sure if travel adapters will handle a large load like a motor, around 8 or amps. power needs in US are 110 volts ac, 60 hertz. I believe UK is 220 volts and 50 hertz. usually when a vac is brought to europe you must change motor.
