Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

We have a Magnavox AS642 tuner, cassette player, and CD player combination. The radio and cassette player still are working, it is the CD player that won't recognize a CD to play. A message will come up saying one disc, I then push play and it will say NO disc found. I have tried to play the cleaning CD and have tried to blow out any dust that might be in it. what can I do now to get a CD to play? Thank you Jeanie

SOURCE: Kenwood RXD25 CD player intermitent??

Hi jenoss

Sounds like the unit has either a failing load belt to the cd drawer mechanism, not allowing the transport to fully load the cd. Give the unit a gentle tap just after the drawer closes and see if it resolves the problem.

OR a faulty spindle motor, you will have to take the lid off and after pressing play, give the disc a gentle "kickstart". If it then begins to run, then the motor is the problem.

If you find it is neither of these, get back to me here and I we shall go further

Graeme

SOURCE: RCA audio system, and three disc.

I always encountered that kind of problem, the audio works but discs player not working. This kind of a problem of a disc player had three causes, first the lense is busted already secondly the MPEG MEMORY IC is busted, thirdly the roller that's moving back and port bringing the lense set stock up full of dirt this is most common problem. That why whateveryou did is not functioning. If you know how to open your unit it's better. First you do is to clean the roller with the use of a lighter fluid to take the old greases that already harden with dirt. After that all is clean put a first class greases type-A only little to the roller and wipe the lense with a cotton buds. If all this procedure nothings happens, you better change the lense with desame code number, to avoid conflict. If the lense is change still not functioning that's the time you change the MPEG memory IC.I assure it to you it's works 100%.

I presume you realize none of these things produces speaker amplification. A receiver would do that and facilitate graceful and simultaneous interconnections. But it's not a necessity for selective interconnective between them, just not all at the same time.

I can't find any details on anything you named except the Tuner.

Typically, the tuner would use an RCA pair to go to a receiver AUX, TUNER or other Line Level input for source selection and amplification. Lacking a receiver, run it to the Tape Deck inputs for recording.

Ditto for the CD changer, but you'll probably have to disconnect the tuner.

Since you have 2 receivers, you can either use the Sony STR-AV570X or the TA-AX380. You will need 3 Stereo RCA Cables to connect your CD Player, Tuner, and Tape Player. The speakers connect to the receiver you choose using the speaker input terminals.

CD player won't work

Firstly is it burnt or factory cd? Most factory cd players won't play a burnt disk.
If you have a store-made cd and it is not reading that, then the lens inside the player is dirty and needs to be blown out with a can of "airduster"

I'm assuming you have the usb cable that came with the tuner. A manual would be helpful.
connect the mp3 player to the tuner via the usb and set the mode button to AUX

Radio doesn't work

Hi ver4

Just a quick question, have all the antenna connections for the tuner been re-established? If the aerials are connected, the tuner module may have broken away from the printed circuit board or a crack has occurred to same. I expect that if it is a cracked PCB, then repairs should not cost more that $80-100.
Good Luck
