Seems to be an issue with the circuitry/wiring on the power board in the printer. Try plugging the printer directly into the wall socket and see if this changes anything.

Should that fail to resolve the issue, the only other option is to either get the printer serviced, or purchase a new one (whichever works out cheaper for you).

Cheers!

I was able to fix someones printer about a week ago. I just had them remove the power box on the printer itself then connect it back up although you have to open up the printer to do this. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOUR UNIT IS UNDER WARRANTY. Its possible that its just a loose connection.

    Hi,

Apologise , for not being able to accept your request, i lost my internet connection yesterday , due to some technical glitch. If there is no activity on the printer after , doing the steps that all the previous techs have told you to do and the there is no indicator light on the printer , like the power LED not turning green. The mostt likely failure on the printer is the NON PFC power supply on the printer. HP doesnot supply or service parts on the printer. You might need to get in touch witht he local tech , if they a powert supply to the printer. Otherwise it would be a better proposition to replace the printer.

    Thanks

can i hve the model number of ur printer too so that i can tell u if the particular board can be repaired or not

  • tech gurus Oct 05, 2008

get your board repaired it will cost u near to $25 plus service charge.for cleaning servicing and reparing.it does not have any thing like fuse inh it it has a black colour chip which gets heated up and creates problem in the boars.and there is nothing like anything you can do it yourself.it is compulsary to get it repaired.the only chance of repair it manuall is if there is moisture on the mainboard you can clean it and the printer will start as normal.but still servicing and cleaning is required.

You may also want to check this link. If the problem is the circuit board, it has step-by step instruction if you are planning to do it yourself.

The instructions in the link is for a HP deskjet 1220c though. You may want to post the model so we can be more specific.

The circuit board could have shorted out. Explains why the light indicator on the power adapter turns off as soon as you plug it in. Yes, you need to have it serviced.

I installed new cartridges (Lexmark brank both black and color) and my printer won't work now.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hp office jet 5610 wont print colors correctly

Some printer software that detect ink levels won't recognize a cartridge that's been refilled. They treat the cartridge as empty although you've filled them with ink. You can try removing the HP software that pertains to the printing functions only (not the scanner abilities). You can also do a Power reset. Remove the printer cartridges, turn off the power, remove both the Power cord and USB cord (if applicable) for 10 minutes. After reconnecting the USB and power cords, install the cartridges as you normally would. The printer should treat them as new.

HP CM2320fxi HAS NO POWER. Plug it into wall socket, push power on button, nothing happens.

I'm not positive about the 2320, but most HP laser printers use a rod that connects the power switch which is in the front of the printer to the AC power which is in the rear of the printer..
If the rod disengaged from the power switch the printer won't power on.
As you move the switch from on to off you should be able to hear a faint clicking noise from the vicinity of the power cord where it plugs into the printer.

Looks like dead. when powering on, control panel shows "self test" and then nothing shows up on the panel and printer is dead.

Hi,

Try to reset the memory on your HP Officejet. Do the following:

  • Turn off the power to the HP Officejet and unplug the power cord.
  • Hold down the "# + 9" button.
  • Reconnect the power cord and continue holding the button for another five seconds.
  • Turn the HP Officejet on, and the memory should be reset.
If this won't work, you can try to upgrade the firmware but you can only do this if the printer is still detected by the Computer. You can check control panel and see if the printer is listed as "online" or "ready".

If the above steps won't work. Your printer is deem defective and needs to be replaced. You can try calling HP support for more info. Here's their US number: 1-800-474-6836

Hope this helps.

My printer won't turn on. I have tried turning everything off and back on but it still won't turn on.

There is only one way to find out if it is an issue with the printer or the Power cord or Power Adapter.

Normally every HP printer has 2 parts. One cord connects the Printer to an Adapter. the Adapter cord then connects to the Wall outlet.

Now that you have connected the printer to working outlet, Check after 10-15 mins if the Adapter ( black box ) is warm or cold. If the Adapter is warm and the green LED light on adapter is glowing, then it could an issue with the Cord or the Printer.

Try with another Adapter or power cord to diagnose.

For Other brand printers, there should be a power adapter ( black box ) and it should be warm when connected to wall outlet, if it is not warm then it is defective power adapter that you need to replaced. Else it is a problem with printer mechanism.

Shawn
