Who manufactured your wireless router? You need to call them. If you have a 2wire router, it's the 10-digit code at the bottom the router/modem.

Can't find my password to connect my new ipad to my Belkin network. What can I do?

I'm assuming you are referring to the pass phrase or key on the router. Originally setup when you added security to your home wlan. Find the manual online for the Belkin router and reset it to factory defaults. Then set it up again with a pass phrase you can remember.

I dont know my wpa key to get online

Use an Ethernet cable between the network-port on your computer and one of the LAN ports on your wireless router.

Start Internet Explorer.
Connect to the web-server "inside" the router.
Run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to establish an SSID, choose an encryption-level (use 'WPA'), and to establish a password/pass-phrase/network-key.

Use the SSID and the password to connect to your newly-configured wireless network.

I am visiting my aunt, she has att broad band with wireless, I put the wep key in and it gives me limited or no connectivity. It gave me a 168 address so I manually put in a 192 address, got rid of limited...

First take off WEP.
Next, ensure DHCP is enabled on router.
Don't set a manual IP address in computer, it should auto detect.
You probably have the WEP key wrong

Use the HEX WEP key in windows, do not use a pass phrase.

Can't remember security phrase for netopia 3347 nwg to add another computer

Are you talking about your wireless pass key, if nessesary connect a PC directly to your Netopia and reset the pass phrase through the routers control panel/gui, remember you will need to reset all pc conections to the new phrase. If you haven't made any IP changes to the netopia, the default settings are likely to be 192.168.1.254, just use your explorer to browse to this address

My wireless need a password

hi..

It seems that you need a wireless encryption key or pass phrase for your wireless connection. Unfortunately you have not provided more details about what router or device you have for your wireless connectivity.Anyway , whatever it is you can check it by using your computer. First i want you to connect your router/modem directly to your computer using an ethernet or usb cable. In this way we isolated the issue regarding wireless encryption. By doing so we may now find how to check your encryption key. For Win XP/Vista pls ff the steps provided below:

Start> run > type: cmd and hit enter > on the Dos command prompt type in ipconfig /all and take note of your default gateway. It should look like this 192.168.1.1 for ex depending of what device you have and it would vary. When you have your default gateway open your browser ie IE and on th address bar type in the default gateway. It may prompt you for your UN and PW.After that youl have a chance to access your router's page. In there youl have chance to view your wireless settings as well as your wireless encryption key.

Tell us more about your issues as i may NOT have provided accurate and relevant information. Well wait for your next post.

Cheers.

I was wondering if you could tell me if i could track people that are useing my wireless router

You can track their mac address, but will not be able to detect where they are accessing it from. The best way to defend against unwanted guests is to secure the connection with a passphrase. You will need to log into your router, go into wireless settings, security, and choose between wpa and wep encryption. I suggest wpa personal, then choose a pass phrase that only you will remember. In order to connect to your wireless router, the pass phrase will have to be entered.

If you do not have the manual for your router, let me know and I will give you further instructions on how to log in.

Need to get a wireless password

If you have a router without a password, users connected to the router can change your settings. I recommend enabling WPA security with a pass phrase and a password on the router. You might consider changing the name of the admin account to something else too.

Wireless Router

If you clicked repair connection at anytime, you need to reset the router, by way of a reset button on the rear or front, go to your wired network card properties in control panel>network connections, click TCP/IP line, click properties again and select obtain ip address automatically. At this point you can run the setup wizard again if you wish using the rj45 cable You should set up the router using an RJ45 lan cable which comes with the unit and get into the routers settings by typing it's ip address in your web browser 192.168.0.1. Check that DHCP is set at enabled to give your pc's an automatic ip address. Check that wireless is also enabled and save any changed settings. Go to the properties of your pc's wireless adapter in control panel network connections and on its TCP/IP line check that obtain ip address automatically is ticked. when you have set up your wireless connection and the router is set up correctly, disconnect the rj45 cable and if neccassary dissable the wired network card so as the router looks for your wireless adapter and gives it an ip address. When a connection is found by your wireless connection you need to go into the router again and set up your wireless security, using whatever method you choose eg WEP or WPA PSK. You need to select the numbers and letters mixture pass phrase that you use for encyption and use the same numbers in the wireless adapter when it asks for the passkey no., you should then be able to connect again securely.
