Try installing the printer with a USB cable first (disconnect the LAN CABLE FIRST) and do a normal installation. Check all functions of the printer and then do a LAN printer install by going to "install or add a new printer on the control panel and then follow the instructions for adding the printer via LAN or wireless if it does support that function. I think you did the initial install backwards (LAN first instead of USB) and when you think you're done, update any software that might be available from the manufacturers site, THE ACTUAL MANUFACTURER not any other site that offers the update!) Like CNET OR FIXYA OR WHATEVER) GO DIRECTLY TO THE SITE, e.g., Canon, Epson, ETC..)
The manual says: Follow the directions given in the Easy Setup Instructions to install the Print Head. If the Print Head is already installed, remove the Print Head once and then reinstall it. If the error is not resolved, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon Service representative.
take care putting the head in as discribed in the setup description. I'll think it over if there could me more
To ensure optimum print quality, the printer will prompt you to perform printer maintenance every 150,000 pages. When the PERFORM PRINTER MAINTENANCE message appears on the control panel, you will need to purchase a printer maintenance kit and install the new parts. To check the number of pages the printer has printed, print a configuration page. To print a configuration page: 1 Press [Menu] until INFORMATION MENU appears. 2 Press [Item] until PRINT CONFIGURATION appears. 3 Press [Select] to print the configuration page. To order the printer maintenance kit, contact an HP authorized service or support provider. (See the telephone support flyer included with the printer.) The kit includes: • fuser assembly • transfer roller • feed rollers • necessary instructions For more information on installing the printer maintenance kit, see the instructions that accompany it.
Your problem could be because of bad alignment. That means paper alignment and printer alignment don't match. There will be instructions in,your manual to properply align your printer.
Hope this helps.
Try going to the manufacturer's website or call their number for some instructions. I think printer installation is fairly simple, should be simply plug in and use. After you plug everything in, open up a word document, hit ctrl+p to open up print menu. Try to find your printer you just installed and try to print.
