Try this steps:

With key in off position:

  • Press and hold the "M" button on radio.
  • While holding "M" button turn key on and turn on radio.
  • Radio serial# should show on display.
  • Write this number down.
  • You should double check your radio serial number for accuracy, as incorrect number will delay your radio code retrieval process!

Serial should be on the item and located sticker near the item name. an example for this like my camcorder, the serial number was on the bottom of it. in your case, the serial number should be on the back of the stereo player.

Please note that code entry is only possible if the display shows "CODE". If the unit is Codelocked, then leave the unit switched on for two hours to reset. it will automatically start working.mostly it happens.

    try and tell.

All you have to do is take a flathead screw driver(preferably rapped in a thin rag to prevent scratching) and pry off the garnish that surrounds the radio (and sometimes heater control). There will be anywhere between 6 and 8 clips that hold on this garnish, don't be afraid to pry, the clips are designed to withstand multiple removals, and if they do break, they are very inexpensive (but possibly hard to locate depending on model and year). When the garnish is removed, the screws will be visible(4 in all, one in each corner, sometimes 6) Once those are removed, you will be able to pull the radio out enough to flip it over and get the serial #. This number should consist of about 10 characters (Mix of #'s and letters) its usually by the side or bottom It's just that simple. There should be no reason that the process of removing the radio, getting the radio code, and getting your radio up and running should take more than 10 minutes. So once again, once you've obtained your serial # CALL YOUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP!!! .
-hope this helps

The serial number is something like " BP5556T4782355 1996 7645556310 T" You can find the serial number, either within car stereo documentation, or printed on a sticker positioned at the top or at the side of the car stereo. On pioneer is usually at the top.
To read the sticker with the serial number you will need to remove the car stereo from car. See for example here.

Here is some example of car radio serial number stickers, pull out your system and read tthe serial number:

    No comment what?

I posted clearly the only two ways to find a car stereo serial number, if you are just looking for a free service, do not waste our time and use the free forum questions, so that we can use our time to help somebody else.

    Many thanks.

Note there is no way to get the serial number on the display, that is rubbish!

The serial number is on a sticker, you get one with original radio documentation, the other is on top of the radio itself.

    That is the answer.

On GPS and similar devices, you have an onscreen option that is calles system information, on those devices you get serial number on screen, on your car stereo you need to remove the radio and there you find the serial number, that is usually the only way and does not take long.

I think this should satisfy your query.

    Regards.

    More:

To estract the radio from the dashboard you need a pair of extractor keys like the one below:

If you do not have the extractor keys, you can buy them for a small fee or use four thin and log screwdrivers, 4 long pieces of rigid wire, or 4 small allen keys. This must be pushed into the 4 small holes aty the front at the same time, wile another person is pulling gently the radio out of the dashboard.
All the 4 retaining clips must be released at the same time
This job requires patience and some time, but is not too difficult, and unless you have all the original documentation, it is the only way to get the serial number.

Let me know if you need more help.

Do as you want, the question "HOW DO I FIND THE SERIAL NUMBER AND DECODE A PIONEER CAR RADIO MODEL DEH-M6106ZH" had been answered, and you also got support on how to remove the car radio.

Rubbish was referred to your statement that on a Pioneer car stereo you can have the model number popping up on the screen.
We gave the answer to your question, that is all, you cannot ask us to give you instructions on something that does not exist.
Now you have had the instructions needed to get to the serial, you do not need any pretest to get a refund, that is your choice.
Next time please use the free forum.

    Many thanks

Well, one of the number on service tab IS the serial nuimber, this unless the sticker had been removed before.
Serial is preceeded from SN or serial number or serial n. sometimes there is only the number.

The serial number is always printed on the service tag on the car radio.

If you want post the copy, or a snapshot of the sticker here, we tell you which one is the service number.

Hi it's a problem in the set up . This model , like few other in the line have the possibility to switch the "back speakers" ( through harness or RCA) into "BASS SPEAKERS" what give you a possibility to hook up a Sub without an extra amp .
To switch it back just follow the Section 2 / Sw control of this link http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/DEH-3300UB_OwnersManual0902.pdf
