I had a similar problem. The printer had indicated that it was out of black ink. I didn't have one on hand, so, for more than a week I couldn't print anything, because if you are out of any one of the four ink cartridges, it won't print at all. That delay in replacing the black ink cartridge apparently was enough time for the printhead to dry out. Big Mistake! I contacted Brother's Tech Support and they suggested I run the cleaning cycle and try to print a test page. Still nothing printed. They had me run another cleaning cycle, and another, and another. Finally, after the fourth cleaning cycle, something started to show up on the paper. They had me clean it two more times, six in all, and it was back to normal. From now on, if it says one of the ink cartridges is empty, I change it yesterday. The major disadvantage of all of this, other than not being able to print for awhile, is that this procedure used up about 1/2 of a brand new black ink cartridge.

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

I have an hp psc 1215 all-in-one. My black cartridge won't print. It recognises if I swap it out for a new one, and goes through all the motions. It registers the correct ink levels. The cradle...

The problem is not with the ink-cartridges. You've proved that, by swapping BLACK cartridges.

The problem is that the ink-jets that spray the BLACK ink onto the paper are clogged.
Thus, no BLACK ink reaches the paper.

Open the HP Printing Assistant, and open Utilities, and run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to unclog the print-head.

My HP Deskjet F380 will only print blank pages. There is plenty of ink left in both cartridges. I've been on the HP help site. It didn't help. It won't photocopy either. It printed the top part...

the body of text of the test page is black ink. From what you describe, the print heads are clogged. Most HPs use cartridges that have the head built in, but if not used for an externded period they can dry up and clog.
Try repeated head cleanings (10 or more) see if any change. If none, try new HP ink cartridges

My brother mfc-255cw won't print black, I'm sure that it clogged! What is the easiest way to unclog it?

There is no easy way of unclogging, this is a trail and error process.
also depends on the severity of the clogging.
The best way is to run the print head cleaning operation that is
embedded in the printer software.
This process will need to be run 5 times and even more.

The print head is clogged.Make sure black ink cartridge have ink and then try unclogging with cleaning tests in maintenance mode.If not help try unclogging manually.Open the cover and first remove the ink cartridges. Then open the holder and remove the print head.Run hot tap
water and put the print head with the nozzles up to stream water.Hold that 5 mins then turn the print head around with the nozzles down.Hold that for every color of 5 mins. Then put the print head in hot water with the nozzles down.Left it water about 15 mins and then you must very nice to dry. When the print head dry put it in printer and start cleaning. If
this not help you need to replace the print head.

CARTRIDGE PROBLEM TRI COLOR WONT PRINT

HTML clipboardHi
If your printer has been left unused for some time? You probably have an ink clog and the standard cleaning is not enough to clear the clogged ink.

Assuming your tri colour still has ink? (Empty they are about 30g Each 1g over that is 1ml of unused ink.)

Provided it worked OK before a period of non-use? Then you just need to use a PRINT HEAD CLEANING KIT to unclog the tiny jets.
Magic Inkjet Flush usually works a treat on those!

Magic is ideal for unclogging the tiny jets on any Canon, Epson HP and removing those horrible white lines which usually appear in prints when dried ink clogs several jets...

So if yours appears to be a clog? all you should need to do is to use a little Magic Inkjet Flush to soak the print head and you should be printing again like new.

I hooked up my HP Deskjet 812C seems like there is no power?

HTML clipboardHi,
It may sound silly but have you had your printer unused for a while?

If so the inks C6615A [No. 15] black and C1823A color ink cartridge may have clogged up?

The empty weights are 65g and 90g anything over that...
1g = 1ml of unused ink
.

If you still have ink you can unclog them with a HTML clipboard Magic Inkjet Flush Kit which is great if you ever need to UNCLOG an HP Canon Epson or any other inkjet printer.

HP L7680 won't print black, cartridge is new, says it is full, Self diagnostic page says printhead is good

Try printing a Diagnostic page or clean cartridge. Looks like the printheads might be clogged due to low usage or general wear and tear, they may not be working as desired.

HP 812C will not print yellow but everything else is A-OK Repeated cleanings have NO effect. Cleaned contacts on printer where it connects to cartridge, no effect. HP 23 cartridge only has about 10 pages...

HTML clipboardHi,
It you haven´t used your printer for a while It sounds like the yellow has clogged up in the print head.
Although you have ink you need to print something regularly about every 10 days to keep the tiny jets open
otherwise it´s like trying to pass a camel through the eye of a needle.

So the inks may have clogged up?

The empty weights are 65g C6615A [No. 15] black and
90g C1823A color ink cartridge
anything over that... 1g = 1ml of unused ink.

So if you still have ink you can easily unclog it with a HTML clipboard Magic Inkjet Flush Kit (find it on Ebay)
