By the sounds of it its not that hard of a fix, I take it you are using outlook or similar
alot of the time people forget that you have to set the outgoing server manually this would cause the error you suggested above.

alot of the time it requires authentication

if you start up your outlook and then on the top menu goto tools from the tools menu you will then click on the account settings then double click on the email account that is having the issue.

A new window will now popup

then click on the outgoing server tab and then here is where we adjust your settings for you outgoing server setting

check the box next to "my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication"
then check the login using and fill in your login info here now we can try this setting first to see if that helped or if we need to put a check mark in the box that says
"require secured password authentication"

also the outgoing server port number might not be correct as well if you have the correct information from your provider that should be put in here then it would be great
this is found in the advance tab

let me know how you made out and if its a different email client or you need more info im more then willing to help out and try and get this issue resolved for you so that you can get those emails sent.

please consult your isp or email host for proper setup

Server error 3204

What are you sending/receiving emails through? A specific program or provider? I suggest if your using a mail client on your computer, to uninstall and install the latest version.

I would also suggest checking that your Anti-Virus program isn't blocking your mail client.

This is new to me. please teach me how to send and receive E-mail

Hello ,
First you have to create an E-Mail account in any of these website
* www.yahoo.com
* www.hotmail.com
* www.rediffmail.com
* www.gmail.com
etc

After creating the E-Mail account , if you want to send the mail to someone use the option called COMPOSE MAIL from your account
and if you want to see the recieved mail select the option INBOX from your account.

THANK YOU

Click the email account you wish to modify and then click Change. Click More Settings. From the tabs along the top, click "Outgoing Server." Check "My outgoing server requires authentication”. Also, make sure to check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server." Click OK. Click Next. Click Finish.
Microsoft Outlook Express From the Tools menu, choose Accounts. Select the "Mail" tab. Click the email account you wish to modify and then click Properties Select the "Servers" tab. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication." Click the Settings button. Ensure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected and click OK. Cannot send e-mail

If your internet is working then check the smtp server settings of your mail client, to be able to send your mail
For receiving mails you need to check the pop3/imap server settings of your mail client.
If your internet is not working then check your router and ISP settings there.

I have windows vista

hi

check for any settings that are required by the email provider, like if the mails are to be sent under gmail or yahoo they require you to be sending the mail through a secure port like 995 and others

also for gmail you have to activate the pop3 mails from the site before getting them on you system

hope this helped
cheers

pls rate the solution if it was any help
