This pc acer z3751 is 2wks old. If i am held up at an internet site for more than a minute, and this happens a lot for the computer is very slow and doesn't yet have any programmes and at the rate of...

Acer z3751 has mother board problems especially when the operating system is being updated. So far Acer service only replaces its mother board when there is a complaint of auto shut down and of having difficulty in starting the systems. I would advise not to replace the mother board if there is such a problem after warranty period and if possible try to extend the warranty period as long as possible to minimise the cost of repairing.

I have a 6 year old dell 2400 pc. The monitor

find out the price and then compare... but in my experience... its cheaper to get a new mother board with the chip and then just install it... in the end... all you are really concerned about is the hard drive... becuase thats where your data is...

Need to replace mother board would i use one with 939 socket for amd and not reformat my hard drive

... and tell me, what is your question. The hard drive doesnt care what the mother board looks like with the following proviso ... you have a IDE drive not ... the new mother board must support it. You have a serial drive, the mother board myst support it.

As long as you can plug in the drive, the drive doesnt really care.

Motherboard

Hi,
One of the greatest factor in intermittent shutdowns is because of heat issues. try to check the fans if they are all spinning. if all fan's are ok then you only need to replace the motherboard. here's a manual that might come in handy http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/index.htm

Hope this helps.

thanks
