Cannot use my car stereo since l had a flat car battery, l need a code. siemens vdo cdr 500 , car bought new in 6/ 2005. Vauxhall Astra convertable.

H?,your car's register documents should have this code somewhere..
Otherwise you must consult to any official Vauxhall service they can get it thru computerized data network by inserting your chassis number..
Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and

I have just bought a vauxhall vectra sri dti. The radio is in safe mode, I have tried ignition on, depressed AS button then radio on and waited. Nothing happens still in safe mode. How can I rectify this...

Press ON and AS together...and leave SWITCHED ON..UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.
This may take up to 11 hours as it depends on how many wrong codes have been entered previously (The waiting time doubles after each wrong code)

I own a Vauxhall Vectra 1.8. I recently took it to a garage to have my break pads re done and when i left the car radio was flashing safe. Could you provide me with the unlocking code please?

Possible that the garage had disconnected the battery terminals and so the radio has reset. You will need to check with the Vauxhall agency /dealership for the said codes or check up on your service book for the codes -- it will be normally written on your book. If not check the data base of the car in your dealership.

Unfortunately CDR2005 codes are only available from your Main Vauxhall dealer or a Radio Decoding Service as access is required to the original factory database which is not commercially available....Sorry

Please check your manual that came along with the car as the codes are written in by the dealer.
if not check with your Opel service quoting your number for the code.
Since the battery was removed it has gone to this safe mode.

I have a vauxhall astra with a cdr 500 cd player in it but it will not play any cds or radio and keeps sayin error TR_ _ _ CD

From what I have been told, you would need to reset the unit. With a reset, basically disconnecting the battery cable you would need a four digit code. It was one that came with the car or the radio. It will put it into safe mode as if the radio was stolen. Once it is in safe mode you would then need to punch in the 4 digit code. That will reset the unit and allow the radio to begin working. If you do not have the 4 digit code you would then need to take it to a dealer and have them reset the code. I was told it would only be about $25 at almost any dealer.
