This particular variety of the Fatal Alert error usually results from a minor programming issue within a third-party application. For example, it could happen because the handle passed to a function like MemHandleUnlock or MemHandleFree is not zero. Our recommendation is to delete the application that is causing this particular variety of Fatal Alert. Then, write a quick email to the software's developer or vendor, notifying them of the bug in their software, so that future revisions can take the bug into account. Remove the battery from your pda replace it back again so your pda starts up. then take it from there and its usually an application that you just added to you pda. let me know if that helps Pam. Jaketasnake out.

Fatal alert

This is a common problem with the Tungsten line, You can try doing a hard reset. This worked for my E2. If that doesn't work, the battery must be removed for a few hours. Although it still may not work after the battery removal.

** To preform a hard reset, hold down the power button, and push the reset button on the back of the unit. The top of your stylus unscrews to expose a "plastic pin" for this purpose. Keep holding down the reset button while the unit reboots. You should see a palm screen displayed while it restarts, let go of the power button and follow the instructions. Pressing up on the pad ring should erase all data.

Just happened to me after installing ThinkOffice. There is a reset button just below the labe "Made in China" on the back of the unit. Hold that button in with your stylus.

Make sure you have over 25% remaining space on your HandHeld and tryagain. Otherwise try a hard reset: Hold down the power button and clickthe reset button.

Fatal Alert problem

We prayed and asked God to save the data even though we had to do a hard reset. Data was preserved entirely! For this we give thanks--and praise.

Try breaking things up into multiple folders to limit the number of songs it has to display at a single time.

Here is Epocrates answer: "... A fatal error when opening the Epocrates application typically indicates that one of our database files has become corrupt. HotSyncing again may restore functionality. If not, uninstalling and reinstalling our application should correct the problem. Other Fatal Error messages relate to not enough free memory on your mobile device for a complete installation or, your mobile device does not use the correct Palm OS version. Please verify you meet our minimum system requirements by returning to our web site, click Support, and then click System Requirements by your Epocrates application. Delete Epocrates Palm/Win from your mobild device. On your mobile device, tap the clock (located upper left corner of your screen), tap App then Delete. Select the following files (one at a time) then tap Delete. You may not see all of these files on your mobile device. It may take several minutes to delete a file. The file will disappear from the program list or your mobile device will turn off when complete.
