Also depends whether your OS is 32 bit or 64 bit so to be more accurate download it from, so choose the appropriate one.

You need to change the settings from the printer preferences from your system.

For windows 7 Goto Control Panel>Devices & Printers> Right click on the printers prefrences & under tab of paper layout/quality select black & white

For windows XP Goto Control Panel >Printers>Right click on the printer icon & select printer properties from their color management

Go to the canon website and download the updated driver package for your operating system and printer model.

Here is a link to Canon for your Pixma MX300 drivers....you will need to select the operating system that your other computer is running, then download and install the software / drivers. Operation Instruction are available on this site too.

The warning that you received was an Operating System incompatibility driver. You must download the correct driver for the specific Operating System like Windows XP, Vista or Mac.

For Windows XP, download the driver HERE

For Windows Vista 32-bit, download the driver HERE

For Windows Vista 64-bit, download the driver HERE

Note: In using Vista driver, you should identify if you are using Vista 32-bit or 64-bit. Go to Control Panel > System to check for version of Vista that you are using.
