I have used my S3400 twice and taken about 12 shots all up. I have had to replace the batteries after the first four shots - left camera for a couple days before using again. Changed the batteries - camera works okay. Go to use camera today - batteries dead again - only about 10 days since I changed batteries.
Well first of all may i start by saying merry Christmas Michael, i presume that is your name, you seem like a Michael, how are the family? Who's cooking dinner this year? Anyway, the problem, old mateypoo's is the battery, i know, the battery, who'd have guessed? Not me thats for sure, THE BATTERIES, get out!! Yes its true, normal batteries are dogshit in any digital camera, you need to buy Lithium Batteries, they're a bit more expensive but you'll get 6 to 7 hundred shots out of them babies. woooooooooooooooohhh!!!!!!! Thanks but you're answer is not helpful. BTW, I am not Michael. I bought Lithium AA batteries and they were flat when I tried to use my camera yesterday. I only took 8 shots and left them in the camera for no more than 10 days.
Can someone provide a answer rather than nonsense !
Spoke to Service people who suggested I send it back. They also told me they don't recommend the use of AA Lithium batteries. I also used brand new re-chargeables with the same result - completely drained after 10 days without taking any shots or turning on the camera
