This is because you can't put an other network sim card in a different network phone.
Example: Vodafone SIM + T-Mobile Phone = Wont work.                Vodafone SIM + Vodafone Phone = Work.

Tip

Remove the Network lock from LG Chocolate KG800

With the phone in standby, enter 2945#*7101# this will activate the extra menu> then go:

Settings>Security>SimLock>Network select deactivate this is where you can enter your SPCK code.

You need to phone your network provider for this SPCK code after you have activated this hidden option (7) as shown above.

It will cost you £15 and you will need your phones IMEI number *#06# it will look something like this xxxxxx-01-442788-1-15 not all phones will unlock this way as the network provider has to get this code from LG.

Virgin Mobile : 0845 6000789 or 789

If you decide to go a reputable Mobile Phone shop they will do it for £10 and will take about 1 minute notice that the Virgin Operator will now be T-Mobile for your existing SIM it will still work with your Virgin SIM (I suggest you bin it bad reception and network busy all the time) use either O2 SIM (the best reception) or Orange SIM (for Orange Wednesdays and slightly better reception than you Virgin SIM)

Tip

Default Pin & Security Codes for SIM cards

A number of networks still use a default pin on their SIM cards at the point of dispatch as a security precaution. If you lose or forget the PIN code it can be irritating.

Please note these PIN's will only work if you have NOT changed the default PIN. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly three times, a lock will be put onto the SIM card, and you need a PUK code to unlock it.

You can obtain your PUK by contacting your network service provider.

Default Network PIN Codes:

O2 = 0000/4321

Orange = 1111

Vodafone = 0000

Fresh = 1210

Virgin Mobile = 7890 / 1210

Vodafone = 0000

Talkmobile = 0000

3 = 0000

Samsung gte1080i i try and put in my virgin sim and it comes up with network lock please help

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Virgin Mobile phones contain Propriatory software. This means that Virgin mobile SIM cards will only work in Virgin Mobile phones. If your Samsung GTE 1080i was not sold by Virgin Mobile your Virgin mobile SIM card will not work in it.

If your phone was sold by Virgin Mobile, contact Virgin Mobile (in the USA)
at 1-888-322-1122 and request assistance.

How to reach a live person: Press 0 as soon as you hear "Alex", and keep pressing 0 for each request made for more information.

Here is another number you can also try:

Phone: 877-602-4907
How to reach a live person: Believe it or not, this number rings through to a live customer service rep. It sometimes rings quite a few times, but be patient and someone will pick up.

When i insert a virgin sim card in a virgin network phone it does not work!

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Virgin Mobile uses proprietary software in it's phones. As such, (depending on the phone) a SIM card already activated for one Virgin Mobile phone may not work in another (different) Virgin Mobile phone - even if it is the exact make and model.

You may need to contact Virgin Mobile Customer service to request a new phone added to your account - and they may need to provide you with a new SIM card. They'll be able to let you know what you'll need to do depending on which phone you want to use on your account.
