It's just printing out a Sheet the strips are for you to see if they are dark enough and the color matches to the colors being cleaned. You can through it away once you are done.

Hope this helps

Hi, I desperately need immediate help about how I can refill HP deskjet 1050 cartridges printer. Just refilled using syringe needle but the printer won't print and the cartridges ink level is showing...

Your printer will be using either of the foll:
HP 802 Black Ink Cartridge CH563ZZ
HP 802 Small Black Ink Cartridge CH561ZZ
HP 802 Small Tri-color Ink Cartridge CH562ZZ
HP 802 Tri-color Ink Cartridge CH564ZZ

after refill, use a dry tissue paper to wipe the head....(small metal head with 2 lines for ink flow in the bottom of the cartridge)...u also need to clean the small metal dots(15 to 20) on the cartridges...(these dots are for data....trf... connecting the cartridges to the printer....)

keep cleaning till the ink flow is fast and your tissue has lot of ink marks....hold the tissue in one hand (pam) and press the head to the tissue....move the cartridge on the tissue in a manner from say top to bottom of your this 5 to 6 times till the ink starts to flow smooth....

if the above does not give you the desired result....of clean ink flow....

the other option is to immerse the cartridge head (only) in hot boilling water.....
to do this....
boil water in a bowl....remove bowl from gas stove / microwave....pour the hot water in another bowl(normal will help you hold the bowl with your hand...just the water will be hot ) and immerse the cartridge head portion in it for some mins...till you can see the ink come out....wait...... and use the above tissue clean process for some the process if you dont see the ink the tissue....once you note lot of ink in the tissue....wipe the cartridge dry and install in printer and do a test print.....

you can also reset the ink level....give me some tiem and i will let you knwo how do that...

once you can print.....let me know....i will tell you the reset trick....

My epson stylus tx110 is noisy and does not print right. i think the rollers are busted.. some words are split in half..

Eventually all inkjet printers have this problem. When the printer is doing its thing (printing) there is a small amount of vaporised ink floating around the inside of the unit. This vapor collects on everything inside of the printing chamber, including the sensor strip the printer uses for tracking the print heads location. Luckily it's an easy fix, just clean the sensor strip.
To do this, get yourself some rubber gloves (unless you don't mind having Technicolor hands that is) and some lint free paper towels. Put the gloves on, then wet half a sheet of paper towel so its wet, but NOT dripping wet. open the printer and allow the ink heads to travel to middle. When they reach the middle, unplug the machine so the head stays unlocked and out of home position (where the print head goes when not printing). With the printer unplugged and the print head unlocked, locate the thin semi transparent strip running from one side of the printer to the other, it sorta floats there in mid air as its supported on either side by small metal tabs. Starting at the print head home position , gently, clean this strip with the wet paper towel, making sure not to apply too much pressure as you can pull the strip off the hanger tabs or erase the small lines printed onto on the strip. Once the home position section of the strip is cleaned, dry it off and slide the print head into it's home position and clean and dry the rest of the strip. When done, plug in and power up the unit, then do a test print to ensure the problem is fixed.
Hope this helps.

Canon ip1600 error 5100

First, reseat your ink cartridges.
if reseating your printer cartridges doesn't work, keep looking for things that would cause the printing head carriage (the thing the print cartridges sit in) to not function properly.

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.
1. clean **** strip film
2. clean **** strip film sensor (back of head carriage)(use contact cleaner)
3. fix purge unit

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

Thanks, Joe

My epson stylus t10 printer can't work properly. it cant print properly. it working but ink isn't Come on paper. please tell me how can i repair it.

You may need to do a head clean (printer preferences/maintainance)
You may need new inks.
If you dont use your printer on a regular basis, ink can dry on the heads, this can make cleaning the heads almost impossible, depending on the type of printer, and how long its left without use

My printer is not printing correctly areas are being missed I have done all the advised maintainence ie cleaning head etc. when I replace the cartrigdes with new generic ones I am still told it is running...

Hi There

Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

I have a brother mfc4420c machine and everytime i turn it on it gives me a error code of 41 could you please tell me what this is thank you

Hi there
I found this on some other pages.

Error 41's can be caused by the carriage losing position, there is a timing fence (a plastic strip) which goes through the carriage assembly a light (opto) counts the extreemly fine black lines on the strip so the printer knows where the carriage is. This strip collects ink, dust etc. and will require cleaning. otherwise the printhead(carriage) loses its position throwing up a 41 error. You can clean this strip with isoproprol or just a bit of tissue and warm water, becareful you dont pull it off otherwise it can be a fiddly going on putting it back without taking the covers off. :o)

Epson Stylus CX810 only prints blank pages even after repeated head cleanings.

Hi revolverpoll, the head cleaning feature in your printer does not guaranteed that it would restore the previous good print out. It can only do the minor problem in printing like small white strips.
Regarding with your problem, don't do a back to back cleaning cycles, it may cause your printer too much heat and may burn out the printer head resulting an unrepairable damage. Printer head of epsons are attached to your printer.

To clean your printer, you need to do it technically. It means you have to open the printer and clean your printer head using other cleaning materials and tools like "cleaning solution" to help the clogged ink worn out..

If you don't have a technical knowledge on how to clean it manually, you can bring your printer to the nearest technician in your area.

Canon Pixma MP110 - Error 5100, cartridge jammed, press OK. But this doesnt fix the problem, any ideas? Many thanks. Happens every time I dont use printer for a while & usually replacing the ink...

Hi You can Try
seen lots of this errors
Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

The magenta ink won't print & it's not the cartridge

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:
Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning". The nozzles on the print heads are finer than a human hair, even if you could get at them without a major strip down I wpouldnt recommend it as they can easily be damaged.
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Not printing anything in black only the other colours... I have cleaned, and re-cleaned, checked nozzels, changed cartridges done all the troubleshooting hints and still nothing. It's only black that's not...

Hi Alcadeus here just a quick tip if you take out all your ink tanks the print head cleaner lift out easily dont worry it goes back easy believe me. On the bottom you have two strips they are the actual heads, you need to cleen them preferably with alcohol i had none so i used aftershave. Then re-assemble the unit and do 2 deep cleans hey presto problem solved.

Worked for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason why is the heads go dry or get clogged.
