ok first try restarting your printer, then try uninstalling the driver for your printer off your computer, restart your computer and printer and then reinstall your drive for the printer, see if you get a replacement for your printer or a refund
The Grinding Noise has something to do with the scanner not the Printing Part, I think the scanner could have something stuck on the moving tray....!!!!!!
Hi There, It's quite possible that you both are experiencing the same or similarly related problem for which I just posted some advice. Please take a look at the entry linked below and see if this won't be of help to you. You're also welcome to email me for further outline or assistance in resolving your issue; I have 6 of these machines and do a lot of work helping others with them. Here's the post: http://www.fixya.com/support/t543026-7130_all_in_one_not_printing
Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
Grinding noise is most likely caused by the carriage lock getting stuck and holding the print head at the home position. The noise is caused by the toothed belt that pulls the head back and forth, skipping over the splines on the motor drive wheel.
If you have been able to print since the problem occurred, chances are that it has freed itself up and will be fine.
Regarding the loss of cyan & magenta output, follow the solution given in my previous posts to complete a manual under-head cleaning cycle. This should get you going.
