Jomilshe,
Your monitor not detecting your PC. Check your cable for any damaged pins or changed another cable. Still the same problems...Used another monitor on the same PC. If it OK! Then the other monitor AD board need to be replaced. What's AD board? It's a piece of component that you plugged your VGA or DVI cables to the monitor. Have a nice weekend!

On smaller Proview monitor, model 468, there is not power cord.

On the Proview 468 and possibly the PL-456s and the PZ-456if you look at the end of the VGA chord that you connect to the back of the computer right in between the two screws is a power connector for a 12 volt power supply this is for the 468 I hope this helps with your dilemma on how it gets power. I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!!! PROVIEW 19" MONITER.

Does the led on front of the monitor stay blue or does it become amber ?
If it becomes amber, then you are not getting a signal.
No harm in trying this : You can try to see if it is a contact problem.
With the monitor unplugged.
Use a small paper clip to run in and out of the blue vga plug holes a few times each to make sure they are not plugged or gummed up.
If that doesn't help and you know that your video cord is good, then I am afraid to say that more than likely there is a problem with yor video card.

If it stays blue then the signal is there but the screen isn't fully lighting up, leading to a failing power-inverter board or a bad bulb.
