SOURCE: Braun Aromaster 10 coffee maker
I just purchased a second-hand 12-cup Braun Sensor coffee maker and thought I had the same problem: coffee water sat in filter and wouldn't run through. Used strong vinegar and water run-through several times and still the water sat in the filter. Then I turned the carafe to the right, so that handle wasn't sitting full middle..... coffee flowed right through. Try it.
PS: does anyone know where to find the operating manual for this model? 'Sensor' on the front; model 3092 on bottom; made in Germany.

SOURCE: How does it make coffee?
You fill it to the line indicating how many cups of coffee you want to make. Then you add coffee to the brew basket, at least 1 full heaping teaspoon per cup. Put the basket on top of the stem and place the stem into the coffee maker. Put the lid on and plug it in. That's it. Don't plug it in without the lid, it's a percolator. It will squirt the water out the top of the stem and it flows down through the coffee grounds.

I had this problem too and finally found a fix for it.
I don't know if the cause of this issue is the same for everyone experiencing the problem, but the issue for me was hard water. The fix is to run vinegar mixed with water through the machine quite a few times, until it starts to run normally.
If you do have hard water issues, it's recommended that you run vinegar or citric acid through the machine about once a month, to keep deposits from building up.

SOURCE: Kenmore replacement carafe
had the same problem- I went to Wallmart they had 3 different replacment carafes. i wasn't sure which would work- so i bought ALL 3- Results-Mr. Coffee 12-cup replacement with the domed drip stop lid didn't fit at all! The GE did fit, but was loose( it can be useable if your in a pinch ) Mr. Coffee 12-cup replacement with model#PLD12 is a PERFECT FIT, and it looks as if it came with the drip pot (expect for the mr. Coffee solgan on the carafe) LOL cost was $12.88 at Wal Mart.
