Corded mice do not need drivers, if you buy a wireless mouse, you will probably need to install drivers coming on the disk boxed with the mouse.

I bought secondhand PC with o/s still on it, however the mouse pointer is still on the screen, got a new mouse but its not working, puzzled!

The computer should recognize the mouse and install it automatically if it is not you might have to go into add new devices. Use the tab and arrow keys to navigate if it is connected to the internet you might be able to down load and install a driver .if the mouse came with a driver disk even better.to navigate click the tab key and watch what gets highlighted when the start button is highlighted click enter then usr the up down arrow keys to go to
control panel then use tab to navigate to add new device manager you should be able to get windows to search for the device. If this doesnt work you may have to shut the computer down and go into bios and check that usb is enabled you can use the key board to do this also .Depending on what type of computer you might have to press the delete key on start up or somtimes the f2 or f 12 key some times it tells you on the bottom of the screen when it it booting up. which key to press. I hope this helps. If you aren't sure of these steps then let me know if you need more help.

Incompatibility gps + synaptics pointing need gps!!

wow...i would boot to safe mode and reload the synaptic software. if you don't have it...just remove the device in the device manager and reboot.....let windows load the default drivers to make it work.

PS, You might need to load the NAV software before hooking it up.

it is quite difficult to install anything without mouse and keyboard.
try to use PS2 mouse or keyboard, it would have to work just fine, after that connect your USB devices, and it just might load the drivers need by it self

I can't get ghost mouse

If you booted on a floppy or other DOS disk to run ghost then you need to load a DOS mouse driver first. Then ghost will find it.

IE boot to DOS, load mouse driver, run ghost.
Note DOS may not detect USB ports so COM or PS/2 mouse is better.

Need to attach wireless mouse

This is a simple procedure

Your wireless mouse will have a bass unit that connects to the PS2 port or USB port of the computer

You will then need to load the driver for your mouse

Use your setup CD if you have one.

Hi, the problem here is your mouse. You have a bad driver or one wasn't loaded. Most of the time, this is a problem with an "off brand" mouse which will only work if the propriety drivers are loaded. You will need to either load the proper driver or try another mouse. I would try another if someone can lend you one.

Another thing could be that one of the buttons is stuck down on the mouse and when you pass over a link it acts like a double click and launches the site or the program.

Another thing to note: Is this a replacement mouse? Meaning that the original mouse died and this was it's replacement without loading drivers but actually, using the old drivers from the old mouse could cause issues. -Sorry if that sounds confusing-
