How have you determined that the battery is defective? Have you tried using an alternative charger? Like the car charger or wall charger? On some PC's the USB method is a poor way to charge a Nuvi. Some USB ports can not supply enough current to adequately charge the Nuvi's battery.

I can't do it for you, but I have done it myself. See the instructions on my webpage at www.dacust.com/nuvi350/index.html. Pictures and everything, along with where I got my battery and the part number, etc. Warning, there are many opportunities to damage your unit doing this. Not for the novice.

I found a page where someone else shows how to change the 350 battery:
    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/webspace8/

This page is more professionally done than mine. Clear and concise. Mine does have more closeups and may provide additional information. Our pages are now cross-linked, so go to either and bounce back and forth for the most information.

FYI: the video in the first solution is for a 760. The 350 is built quite different. That video will be of little use for a 350 owner.

My Garmin Nuvi 200 won't turn on/fully charged

If it is not charged it will not turn on. If you have a bad battery (which is the case if it won't fully charge) your only choice is to return to Garmin.

Nuvi 350 will come on but will not stay on

The internal batteries are not user replaceable. Please don't try to do this yourself. I've received numerous emails from people who have destroyed the Nuvi attempting to do this. I have replaced numerous Nuvi batteries. The life of the battery depends on how many cycles its gone through.
