Click Start - Run
Type CMD - hit Enter
Type NET STOP SPOOLER
Goto C:\Windows (or WinNT) \System32\Spool\Printers
The files in there are your stuck print jobs - delete all of them
Back in your CMD window type NET START SPOOLER

Done.

Print que on hp 4300 says "printing" but nothing happens and I cannot clear que

Hello,

This is a common problem with Windows machines. If a print job gets corrupted in the print que it will stop and block all other jobs from printing. It will also block the job from being deleted normally. You have to stop the print que service and then delete the print jobs from the que. Here is a link to a full article that shows how to stop the que, delete the print jobs and restart the que to restore printing.

Can't cancel print from spool

Try forcing the spooler to stop and restart. In the command prompt (Start > All Programs > Accessories, right click and choose run as administrator with Vista and Win7)

Type "net stop spooler" <enter> without the quotes; on the next line type "net start spooler" <enter> again without the quotes. Once another prompt comes up, restart the computer.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(without the second command, the phrase "go get a cup of coffee after the reboot" becomes a part of the routine. These commands have worked since Win95.)

Try stopping the print spooler service and canelling all the documents.

The Windows Print Spooler is a Windows XP "Service". You can start/stop it via the following steps:
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. click on Run
  3. enter "services.msc" without the quotes and press Enter
  4. Scroll down to Print Spooler
  5. Single-Click on Print Spooler
  6. The details will open in the middle of the window.
    • It probably shows Start -- if so, Start it.
    • If it shows Stop and Restart, I suggest Stop it, then Start it.

HP photosmart C4180 all in one. cannot get it out of print queue

jst try deleting the printer icon from the printers window under the control panel,if it shows deleting, unplug the printer, restart your computer and then try deleting it again.it should go off, then plug the printer back in,and follow the on screen instructions.
if it is still not working then delete it from the device manager>usb composite device .it should delete the drivers, then plug the printer back in after restarting and follow the instructions.
