I have had this tv for awhile and it has worked very well, but a few days ago, I was babysitting and the kids had messed with the settings, and now it will not turn on. All I saw was something lock and they shut it off and now it will not turn on. There is a little red dot beside the buttons in front of the tv and it is on it's lit up I guess because it is on standby. I have tried unplugging it, and pushing the power button and waiting, so now I don't know what to do? Please let me know if there is a way to fix this, I really like this tv!!!
The problem is that the tv was probably set to pwr on only with remote control.........i have the same problem and lost the remote...........BUMMER! Trying to figure out how to reset the programming without the remote.

Re: Small rca truflat tv won't turn on
Leave the tv unplugged for a couple of days , if the lock feature that you seen was a parental feature then the tv should have still came on , even if it was a lock for the tv the tv would come on but would not change channles or do anything but say its locked , otherwise something happened to the EPROM chip inside the tv that controls the power on/off, vol , menu , ect...

Any malfunction associated with a flashing light usually indicates a
circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of
taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or
fuse are long gone. Proper servicing will require troubleshooting
procedures that can only be performed by a qualified electronic repair
facility or professional television repair person. Ask for an estimate
and a realistic appraisal of whether the set can be adequately fixed.
Depending on the age and condition of your TV it may not be cost
effective to repair.
Hey this same thing happened to me not too long ago and you just have to buy a Universal remote and program it (it should come with the codes to program it to your TV) I think the code is 704 or 702 for RCA... Anywho after that then you can turn your tv back on wit the remote and push menu and Preferences and then FPA off. Its just a parental control block so your kids cant touch the tv buttons and mess with your settings.
If your TV is the type that has a picture tube, the picture tube itself could have gone bad. Also one of the picture tube driver circuits may have messed up. A number of things can cause this to happen. You'd need to
take it to a shop and get an estimate for repairs.
Hopefully you can find a shop that will give you a free estimate.
