Is this solved?

Take the plug out and try again. I thatdoesnt work, take the air cover off, approx. 4 or 5 cap screws and see if something is binding. If this doesnt work try to turn the mag wheelk if that doent work, you probably have avery loose rod cap or broken rod.

I have a Snapper self-propelled lawnmower and The starter cord will not pull out to get it started. What do I do next?

Hi Patricia,
There is probably a safety lever that has to be pulled back toward the handle in order to release the flywheel. (This lever is on the top side of handle.) Once you have it firmly against the handle it should start. To stop the mower, simply release the lever. There may also be a 2nd lever to engage the self-propelled (located under the handle). It may be difficult to start with this one pulled.

The starting cord is jammed and will not pull.

you may need to remove the 3 or 4 bolts that hold the recoil on the starter string to the mower. this is not a big deal just be careful as the starter rope may recoil when removing.

Starter cord on lawnmower will not pull out

Hi Mary. You will need to remove the starter box on your mower. The coil box may be rusty or the pully may need fixing. Try using some oil spray and see if the pully now works. If the starter coil is clean the mower may be ceased.

You need to take the Starter cord assembly off and see if the Nylon gearing that 'grabs' the centrifical wings is broken OR those wings are rusted in a way that they do not make contact with the nylon piecs of the Starter.

hard to mow a lawn pulling the starter cord all the time, lol,,,ok, no spark...you have an engine control bar at top of handle, cable runs from it to engine brake, and this is also engine kill switch. sounds like this cable has stretched. this cable controls engine brake and also kills the spark. you have two problems, and this controls both.

MTD Yard Machine CD000147 6HP 21 inch ..The problem is "Cannot pull the starter string for start. The string or engine stuck to pull the starter. We didn't use it for the whole winter.

The operator presence bail must be in the run position to release the flywheel brake. If you can't pull the rope with the bail in the run position, your rope is fouled. You will have to remove the shroud and take it to a repair shop.
