I have 12 volts constant on my power wire coming from my battery but when I connect the p.cont. wire to the amp the voltage drops out. The green indicator light comes on for a split second then fades away...

Your P.cont is not hooked up to a correct power source... Make sure that you dont have it possibly hooked up to the power antenna wire by mistake. The p. cont. (remote turn on) should always send constant power one the key is turn on in the vehicle.

I need to know which colour wires are the power supply on a nissan almera 1999 ambition radio harness

Normally, orange needs to be hooked to a constant 12V source straight from the battery(called constant). This will keep your presets and time running when the car is off, which is also normal.Red is hooked to a wire which gets it's power from the ignition being on,also called switched power.
Good luck,Greg

What wire or wired do i need to hook up from my wiring harness on my cd player so it will keep meomery

depending on the cd player, it should be labled "constant", "battery", or "memory". the common color is yellow or sometimes orange. some radios use red, but red is usually the "switched" or ignition power source. hope this helps. dave

Yellow wire from battery to radio no power?

Hi Excavator,

Normally both Red and Yellow on the radio need +12VDC (with Black Grounded).

One is supposed to be switched, the other constant (for clock, memory, etc). I've been hooking 'em both to constant power for so long I forgot which is which

Best regards,

How do i stop my jvc stereo from resetting, because every time i turn off my car every thing gets reset

There is a constant power wire and a switched power wire. The constant must be hooked up to a constant power (one that doesn't lose power when the car is off). Either the YELLOW or RED wire will be the 'constant on'. Or you can hook that one directly to the battery. The other power wire from the deck should be hooked up to the switched power (or plugged in with a fuse that turns on with the car). Voltometer is your friend here.
