My monitor goes on normally at start and after some time goes blank.it comes back only after pressing the switch on the monitor to whatever the display would be during that instant then again goes blank.I tried running a movie to ascertain if the problem was with the CPU but it happens that the movie continuously runs even if the display goes off and on.I tried with a CRT monitor and it works without any interruptions.

Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, falied inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.
Try to do this: Just before the Windows start up screen (after the bios loading) press F8 and log in at safe mode settings. If at this mode you can see your screen change the resolution settings at a lower set. Save and reboot normally. Now try step by step to increase your resolution. In case of a blank screen appears at a new setting, don't do anything; after some seconds the monitor will come back to the previous settings. Save and go on.

sounds like a over heating problem, if there is any fans make sure they are tunring , make sure no vents are coverd on back, hover any dust from any of these areas. if continues you might be looking at a repair job.
When laptop on booting immediately press del. And the screen will run normally. But if the screen is still white, force to press power button soon. And it will shutting down. After shutting down, repeat this action. It will work.
Sounds like its simply going into power save mode. Does your screen come back on when you move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard? Is the computer still on? Check your power options in control panel.
Try setting your graphics card output to something simpler like a basic 640x480 resolution 64k colours and see if it still does it... it maybe that you have the resolution/colour depth to high for the monitor to properly handle
if it is stable at the lower setting slowly increase untill you reach a point that you and your monitor are both happy
You may have a compatibility issue with your monitor. You computer may not be putting out enough power to support your monitor. Check your users manual on your monitor for output requirements. If the monitor's manual has a number to call, call the manufacturer to see if there are any compatibility problems between your computer and your monitor and calling the people who built your computer as well. Get as many scenarios as you can to find a solution. Hoped this helped.
ok, get to the event where you get this to happen "...then turn it back on the monitor does come on normally...", but just after power-up, press the F8 key to go to safe mode. If nothing visible, press ENTER anyway...get to safe mode yet?
