Thinkpad A21m 2628 G7u BIOS/Video Shadowed Error 0175: Bad CRC1 Stop POST Task
Having read numerous requests on this Thinkpad failure, there appears to be a common problem around the world with this model. My laptop shut down suddenly and when I turned it back on it does not move beyond the the system test screen. Along with two beeps. I have the 'on' light.
I downloaded the BIOS (spsdKx36) from the IBM site, placed it on a disk
and attempted to update the BIOS. Nothing. It displays preparing boot device list, after I pressed F12.
Is it possible there is a virus that is affecting/altering critial system components? Or, just a bad system board that IBM would like to replace?
Would using Bootdisk.com download to boot the machine start it up again?
If so, which program would I download? Windows NT is the operating system.
