Question about Technics SL-1200M3D Turntable

1 Answer

Technics 1200M3D I have a pair of Technics 1200M3D turntables that I bought new 6 years ago. Both turntables work great however they are both leaking oil from under the height adjustment. Can you tell me what is wrong with them and what parts I would need. Thank you very much for all your help

These units do not leak oil. What you have there is just the old lubrication oil that is used for the tonearm height based. Nothing to fear, just clean it up. If you want, take it to a service center and have it professionally cleaned.

My technics 1200 mk5 is blowing a 125V 250 mA fuse on the board just after the transformer

There must be a shorted power transistor in the power supply area. Check the voltage output of the transistor to determine which part is having a short circuit.

Where is the ground wire connected to on the Technics SL-BD27?

You will more than likely need to wire it up from the inside of the unit, unfortunately. Parts for this model are discontinued. You can also try an iPod cable. As the size is a 1/8" plug - same as an iPod cable, then just cut the other end, and ground to your receiver.
