DirectSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)

Suddenly my PC can't display sound . When I use "DirectX Diagnotic Tool" to test, It displays "DirectSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)". Please help me!

    I get the same error code with directx diagnostics. My sounds disappeared when I was connecting different speakers. I have realtek ac97 and when I use the start button in realtek soundmanager in connector sensing to sense the connections, I hear music and etc. voices that short time, so I don't think the card is fried or so.

    I have the same problem and error code. The sound just stopped working properly. I do get static or garbled sound. I have changed the speakers, but it made no difference.

    i replaced my hard drive on my pc and i now cant recieve any sound. i ran the directx test and i also recieve the same mess. what can i do to recieve sound again on my computer??

    after installing a new hard drive...i am unable to hear any sound.

    i get the same error message when i did a directx diagnostic:

Disconnect the usb for the quickcam and restart. then plug in the camera

Hi,
Run the dell diagnostics on the sound card .
1. Restart your computer
2. tap on the f12 key slowly five times
3. select the option Boot to utility partision or diagnostics
4.select dell 32 bit diagnostics
5. Select customer test and test sound

If the test pass, try system restore , probably the problem is with the sound card drivers

if the sound test fails , shutdown the system again and remove the cmos battery and start the system without it once.Check sound again .

Sound card installation problem


You download the AC97 codecs from Realtek and retry your install. You have a choice of two - standard AC97 (try this first) or AC97 HD, both are available from the same link and one or the other should be compatible with your device.

Post your results here, especially if this doesn't fix your problem.

Please follow the steps below,

1. Start / Settings / Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager
2. Scroll to bottom of list, click on System devices
3. Scroll down to Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio
4. Right click on "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver" and select Disable - screen will refresh
5. Right click on "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver" and select Uninstall - screen will refresh
6. Reinstall the RealTek HD Audio

It sounds like you may need to Update the Drivers. If not you may have a Bad Sound Card.

No sound!


Did you get the driver from HP? Here is a link to install (or download) the driver for your system. It may be beneficial to download it to your computer in case you need it again.

That is not an issue...try to use original driver from motherboard website.........
