Please expalin, how do you know the CPU quit?

A virus will attack information on the hard drive, I've not heard of one that destroys equipment (I don't believe there is a virus like that ever)

Windows 98 is an older operating system and depends what your computer cpu speed is.
If is a newer fster generation you will get errors when you will try to format the disk.
if your computer is a desktop and stopped working after you erased the previous windows and you are trying to install windows 98 expect the power to fail many times.
give me more details regarding what exactly arew you trying to do

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My laptop is infected with 44 viruses in which I cannot download a free antivirus, what shall I do to remove this, everytime I download antivirus it always infected.

There are 2 solutions to this problem. 1. Formatting of your laptop. as a result of formatting your laptop, you may loose valuable informations as well as programs. 2. Downloading a Norton 360 antivirus program into your laptop. after download, you can scan and fix viruses. this will work perfectly well. If your computer doesnt allows you to perform a download, simply download from another computer into an external device such as a USB device and transfer the Norton 360 setup flies to your laptop and run it. after installation process, scan for viruses and fix. I hope this helps.

I cannot start all my .exe files in Vista. I cannot also run my spyware. I think its the rundll32.exe virus.

Most Probably it is a virus that has infected your computer.

Please follow the steps below:
1) Restart the computer
2) Start tapping the F8 key
3) Select Safe mode from the list of options.
4) On the login screen select your Username.
5) Scan for the virus using the antivirus/antispyware.
6) Remove all the infections
7) Restart the computer.

It should work fine now.

Recently I purchased a product of kaspersky lab -

Ccleaner will not remove a virus, but is excellent for removing useless files. I find that the free version of ad-aware is very good for virus removal and protection. It is available at www.download.com search out ad-aware free, spell carefully, there are imposters. Spybot search and Destroy is also a good virus remover to have. I use both. AVG free is a good virus protection to install either before or after you have cleaned up your system. AVG is at this link: http://free.avg.com/
