I was upgrading the firmware on my e61i and the process was going. while it was upgrading and writing the new software....my phone turned off and the upgrade got stopped and it said the connection has been lost....i trying to turn the phone back on and it would just stay at a black screen and the white light would turn on. i tried several times to redo the upgrade but it would not detect the phone. i tried again after a couple of hours and it did detect the phone and recognize that the software was damaged and needed to be reinstalled but then it lost connection again.the phone isnt doing anything at all and is almost useless....does anyone know how to solve this?
Hey friends..i just sent my nokia e61i which had its firmware failure during the updation process,,the problem is that its integrated circuit or I.C..is short circuited or what something like that..so the best option is to sent the phone to a nokia service center..i hav just sent mine..hope to get it back in a month...

This issue is seen very usually in cell phones. It is very common that after upgrading the Software's firmware, the phone's mother software fails and becomes unresponsive. This results in failure of the phone and it doesn't powers on. If a phone fails after upgrade, the company immediately voids the warrenty of the Phone. In some cases, it is impossible to repair or rollback the software. In your case, you can only do one thing. Kindly take it to a Nokia Service Center and ask them to anyhow re-install the phone's software.

have you tried connecting it to a pc and using the nokia suite program if youre computer reconizes the hand set ur o.k failing u will have to reflash the set with a new program go to (www.gsmhosting.com) register and use the guides this is very good and helpfull
connect ur phone to pc via data cable. install the ovi suite first. now there will be an icon of nokia software update on the desktop.click on it INternet is required on ur pc now follow the step by step process. sumtimes the download might fail but try again u will be successful and sfter upgrading to 11...21 u will like ur phone better than before
Get it upgraded from Nokia Care as they do it with their computer with minimum risk against your doing it over the net. I got my E61i busted doing that and thats how I learn this lesson.

the firmware has got corrupted so you are facing this problem ..
upgrade your firmware .. you can do it by downloading the "nokia software updater" from the nokia site... you can do it for free...
before upgrading the firmware just trying giving the "restore factory settings" this may fix the firmware problem ..
if you still persist the same problem then just go for the firmware upgrade .. you can do it by using normal data cable ..
NOTE: dont switch off or disconnect the phone while the firmware upgrade is on process this will fully damage your cell firmware and you couldnt able to switch it on again if it happens and even if that happen if you visit the nokia center also you can not get your cell working. so do it carefully...

Which version of firmware did u try? Is it 3.0510.0?
If you haven't tried then try installing this.From what I have heard this doesn't have anything extraordinary but its good enough to keep your phone to running smoothly!
