Question about Whirlpool LER4634J Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Clunking whirlpool drier

25 year old dryer. Dries well, but clunks loudly and walks a little more with each load. I read your explaination of worn gliders, etc. Makes sense. It is dangerous to use this way? Not really sure of model number. Figure it would pay to have service call when it is 25 years old. Thought I would continue to use it until it dies, but not if it would be dangerous to do so.

Rollers and or felts are cheap,
much cheaper than a new dryer,
and nobody now makes a dryer that will last 25 years.
I have maytags 1972, 1974, kenmore 1968, speed queen 1980,
in each apartment building used by 11 families, to keep them running costs peanuts

new dryers?, - 3 years is all you get before the $$$ starts

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have a LG front load dryer model# DLE2020W and it is clunking with and without a load. Seam in the drum seems to be fine. It's 3 years old added video with sound

Is the 'clunking' noise new? Or was it always there?

Check manual for Troubleshooting; go to an appliance store and ask the salesperson. I would try YouTube, too.

When the dryer is on it makes a loud clunking sound during each rotation

Check to see if something was left in a pocket when dried and fell out. like a coin, a magnet, a wrench. Often, things fall out of pockets and make a loud clunking sound when the drier is turned on.
