Hello No you do not have to change the hard drive.Seems if you did a factory restore from a disc the hard drive works fine. You will however need to replace any programs or games or whatever you had. Also any files or documents are probably gone. So consider your notebook like it was the day you bought it.
The smart software is useful in evaluating the performance of the hard drive, if you have sensitive data I recommend backing up the information on a external hard drive, or cd/dvd disc, or a memory stick, and consider replacing your hard drive in your laptop.
The headphone jack is soldered directly to the motherboard. finding a new one and getting it soldered on is the only option. As to the dvd I would remove it (one screw holds it in either on the bottom or under the keyboard) finding the model number and ordering a new one on ebay
To change a drive is not hard at all, ones u can identify it then un screw the ferrari 3200 and replace the drive.Note:while replacing u must take note of how u un screw it and where u un screw it and make sure u dont lost any screw or misplace the connector when u are screwling the drive back.and before u replace any drive at all make sure the system is off and make sure to romove the battery b4 removing any drive to avoid burning of the motherboard.
Hello. Vista needs a repair. You will want to start by putting in your own vista disc or borrowing one from someone. If your laptop isn't booting from the disc, then enter the bios (by hitting f2 or f12 usually) at bootup and select the DVD/CD rom drive to boot first. When the vista disc loads you will want to select recovery tools. Then select "startup repair". That should fix your problem.
This is a hardware problem and you will need to replace the drive. The hinge screws need to be removed in order for the keypad to lift up. Under the keypad should have at least 2 screws holding the dvd rom. Remove them. If you turn over the laptop, check to see if there are any screws needing to be removed before taking out the drive.
If the connection and physical size of the drive of the ferrari 3400 dvd drive is the same as this, it should work as a replacement.
Make sure you check the port of the dvd drives that they are the same, as you don't want to force it and bend any pins.
