Look inide your house/apartment for the breakers panel - usually in the basement/ground floor closet for house or in the closet for aprtments-check that breakers are on the ON position-plug another appliance in the same plug (example clock or toaster) see if it works-if another apliance works it is an internal problem with the power supply to your tv-get back to me with the model of the tv

Sony kdl55hx800 red light blinking 2 times

Expert: Shahid replied 2 years ago.
OK, 2 times red blinking light shows problem with main power supply board that isn't working and need to be replaced in TV.
Power supply board has two type or supply, one is called standby power and other is main power, main power supply isn't working for some reason like defective regulator chip etc so TV shows that red blinking error code.
Power supply board replacement would resolve the problem.

Not working will not power up

make sure outlet is working, use an extension cord or move tv to another plug if outlet does not have power, assuming you have power at the outlet, unplug tv and hold power button in for a minute, to completely discharge system, hopefully unit will power up after you plug in unit

Mitsubishi 65 rear works fine yellow light starts blinking tv shuts off, when light stops can hit power and it could work fot 10 min or the next 4/5 days

All you need to know is that your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope this help in solving the problem, Take care.....

I have a Pioneer Pro510HD TV sudenly quit working

a LOT of these have and develop bad solder connections on the Power supply printed circuit board. Follow the power cord inside (unplug set first) and remove the board and examine it for broken or poor solder connections.

I have seen several of these with this problem and I usually just resolder most of the board up and have a working set.

Mitsubishi WD-52525 was working fine and now it will not turn on

This is just a shot - but it worked with my Sony (same problem).
Pressed remote power on button AND held Power button on TV on at the same time.

Set clicked 4 or 5 times and then came on....

Other, most have a (VERY small) reset switch on the rear - near where the power cord enters the TV... Use a flashlight and a mirror to locate it on your set....

No power. No lights.

I have the exact same problem.
TV was working fine (if you call having to deal with blinking lights of death and multiple starrt up errors...) - but I powered through it all.
This TV is 6 years old and started acting up after the 4-year extended warranty ran out.
This morning I went to turn it on and nothing.
Hmmm... Got my manual to count the blinking light code...
Whoops. No lights. Nothing. Checked plug. Checked power.
Uninstalled and installed lamp. Checked plug and power again.
Not one stinking light. No power to fan. Nothing.

How does a TV just DIE???

General electric older tevelision stopped working

"Stopped working" is a little vague. Are there any flashing LED's? Any start up noises? If the TV seems dead in the water, try a power drain:

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board.
3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on. If this doesn't work and the TV appears to be dead, it may only be the power supply that is now defective and service would be required.

TV auto shut off-power indicator light blinking-won't turn back on

You could have gotten an electrical surge that put your set into a shutdown condition and unplugging the set and letting the Microprocessor reset will fix this problem if it dosent blow out the main power regulator as you still or might I say have a regulator IC problem. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN MORE THEN A FEW TIMES WITHIN A SMALL TIME FRAME I WOULD HAVE THE SET LOOKED AT BEFORE THE REGULAOR BLOWS SOMETHING OUT!!!!
