SOURCE: thermal fuse keeps blowing

they will blow if the heat dont get out of the dryer and builds up inside / check and see if vent hose behind dryer is kinked or vent going outside is open / it will be one of those two.

SOURCE: Amana dryer ignitor lights, sometimes gas catches, sometimes not

I have the An Amana commercial quality stainless dryer and mine just started doing the same exact thing. he replaced the ignitor and nothing. Now they say the gas valve needs replacing, $150-$200. He told me it looked like the roller were starting to wear and the dryer is coming towards the end of life and maybe I should look for a new one, that is B.S. My dryer is 6 years old and we only have 2 people in the house so it gets used about 2-3 time per week. I also have an Amana washer that matches (commercial stainless) and the drain pump and drum seal already went out in that last year. My diagnosis is Amana is JUNK!!! I am going to buy G.E. or something non Maytag/Amana from now on!

SOURCE: getting to heating element/thermal fuse for amana model LED 20AW

I just replaced mine by taking the bottom off, but in hindsight I think I should have been able to do it by just removing the lower front panel. With long arms, you should be able to reach back and loosen the two bolts holding it in place. Good luck!

Amana dryer model YNED7200TW will not start. there is power, but start button does nothing. Resetting breaker did not work. Any ideas?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

Amana dryer model no led20aw will not start

Hi,
When the dryer won't heat or will not start it is the thermostat/thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset.
Hope this will help....

How to clean internal lint buildup amana gas dryer model ALG643RBW

Buy a lint brush at Walmart or other retail store. It's a long plastic bristle brush that will allow you to reach down in to the cavity of the blower intake. I always use a vacuum hose to **** up what it pulls up so it won't fall back down in.

I was told my problem is the cutout, where can i find this part inside the dryer unit?

The thermal cutout(fuse) is normally located either near the heater (electric) or near burner (gas)...will either be flat and round with 2 terminals sticking out(wires) or flat and rectangular with 2 terminals. 6256b6c.jpg af7bf92.jpg Here are 2 typical thermal fuses which maybe what your looking for dependent on your dryer. Hope this helps! Mike

NO HEAT WITH AMANA GAS DRYER ALG120RAW

Check the following to address this issue..

Gas valve coils
Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

Igniter
Igniter may burn out or break. Replace the igniter if found defective.

Note: Igniters are very fragile and break easily. It is recommended to handle the igniter only touching the ceramic part of it (usually white in color).

Flame sensor (or radiant heat sensor)
Replace the sensor (located near the igniter) if found defective.
