Most likely an internal component. to further isolate it, try using another video cable to connect it to the computer, test it on another computer and try another monitor on your computrr. if the monitor fails even with a different cable and computer, time to get it repaired or replaced if under warranty.

Dell monitor screen suddenly went white. Can it be fixed?

I have a strong suspicion that you have burned a capacitor or two on the monitor. You will need to bring this in to have it serviced as it will require the monitor to be opened up and new capacitors replaced/resoldered.

That was likely a capacitor that popped. Slight burning smell? You may need to have a technician come out to resolder a connection or two.

TURNS ON AND OFF IMMEDIATELY . HEARD POPPING AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURN BEFORE 1ST TIME

More than likely a burned power supply. The acrid smell is a giveaway for high powered components failing. If it were a conventional CRT type screen, I would suspect the flyback transformer, but LED/LCD type screens will eat a power supply if it has the slightest defect in manufacturing.

MAGNAVOX TV BURNING SMELL TV WENT POP AND WENT OFF

Well that pop had something to do with the power components inside the TV frying. I would have to say there is nothing you can do to repair it as its dangerous to work on such things.
I wouln't waste my time bringing it to a repair shop they will probably tell you to just buy a new one.

Sounds like it could be a problem with high voltage stages. Definitely a job for a TV technician as it is dangerous try to repair it yourself.

Toshiba 50hp66

I think that the pop you heard was an electrolytic capacitor blowing its top on the picture frame board. If you are able to check this for yourself by looking on the board for the one/s with a bulging top or are a brownish/black colour like something has caught fire. And also in this situation smell can be of great help as it will smell burnt out but PLEASE before putting your nose or anything else in the tv take all necessary precautions against electric shock and discharge any electrolytic capacitors in the vicinity. If you are not able to do this yourself find a competant technician. Hope this helps.

Sony KP61V80

This may be an easy problem to fix. If you heard a pop sound, it's possibly a burnt cap on the powersupply. Check caps C521, C522, C517 or any burnt caps on the RA-3 chassis. Obviously be careful when checking.

Panasonic 51"

First there are a few questions. Did You disconnect fly back xformer (black honeycomb looking deal with red large gauge wires)? Did you make sure your solder splash didn't bleed over on causing shorted amplfier(s)? Have you identified what component has went home to ma ma? You should see discoloration on either board, replace blown fuse power board replace damage part(s) and go over real good before applying power.
