I have sound, but the picture is yellow lines with red dots. also on a white back ground. Is this fixable or is the tv junk

Fixable but expensive, and no assurance that the tv will not give you problems in the future, with the cost of new tvs so low - replace it

Hi, i have an LG plasma, model number RT-42PX11.

You need to pull the power supply out and replace the damaged caps on the board. Look for swollen, pushed up tops and leakage around the base of the caps.

You need soldering and basic electronics skills. You also need to pull apart that big tv and pull the power supply board!

You can look on Ebay for pullout boards from people who have broken their screens. It can get you a working board for cheap sometimes!

Good luck and be careful!

LG 42PX10 Plasma

I just fixed my plasma with same looking problem. Mine is a 42PX11. Cost me $320.00 in parts from Fishwick Electonics. Replaced three circuit boards, crossed my fingers and turned it on and am happy to report it has been working fine since for about 6 months now.

Hi There,

Have you double checked that your scart leads are all pushed in fully, usually if a scart is out on one side you loose either picture and/or sound...

Color loss

Hi,

How old is your plasma?

I believe the gas that powers the plasma only has x-hour's life and therfor may need to go for repair in a tv repair shop
