Re: Printer PIXMAMP600--Photo Index Sheet. When the photo index sheet is printed the top part of the sheet prints in an Asian language. It used to print in English. One time it printed in this language on the screen and I was able to fix that. This I cannot fix. Can you help me Harry Anixter

    Your suggestion to follow the instructions on page 70 did work when the asian language appeared on the screen of the printer. However, it still prints in the asian language on the upper portion of the PHOTO INDEX SHEET. This is the problem that I can't seem to fix. Unless I hear to the contrary by tomorrow morning (Saturday), I will reinstall the printer & see if that works.

Check the printer settings on printer properties in control panel.

If you cannot fix it in this way reinstall printer drivers from disk.

    The proper procedure to reset printer language is the one explained at page 70. Try first doing it a couple of times, just in case. Unplug power cable for ten minutes before performing the reset procedure

    If that did not work, then you try reinstalling the software.

    If it still does not work , then the printer had a problem with the firmware controlling its operations.

    Unfortunately the firmware for MP600 is not available for download, this means the job must be done at a repair shop.

    Try first performing the procedure above.

    If you tried changed settings, as suggested, and you also tried reinstalling software with no luck, then , as already stated, there may be a problem with printer firmware, or printer control board.

    Contact Canon and see what they say. If they acknowledge this is a logical error, due to printer factory defect, they may even offer you a free repair or a replacement. Insist on this point.

    Ensure you performed setting procedure posted above (the one on page 70) correctly first.

    Did you call Canon? If not call them as soon as possible.

    If what you are telling me is true, and the printer stays stuck with the asian header, then you can ask a factory replacement from Canon.

    Also please do a scan of one of the asian header and post the picture here (picture must be not too big, scan header only).
    Post picture here so that I can see it and understand if it is a setting problem or not.

    Call Canon immediately and clet me know the outcome.

My calibration page printed on plain white text paper


When you calibrate the 5100 AIO, first, you push in the photo paper drawer until it CLICKS. Next, print an alignment sheet. It will use the photo paper. Pull the drawer out, put the printed sheet in the scanner bed, with the arrow in the right hand corner, closest to you. Press start and it will scan and print a sheet on full sized paper.
If your initial scan doesn't print onto photo paper, you don't have the drawer pushed in the whole way. There is a definite click and the green light will turn on.

Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,

My praftically brand new Canon Pixma MP620 printer grabs more than one sheet of photo paper and stops printing picture on first sheet then garbles several pictures on a portion of the next sheet. I just...


check the printer's printing preferences on properties option.should be set to normal then check the printer rollers if its dirty where the papers pass thru, if the problem persists load only 1 paper every time you print for the printer not to grab more papers.i think it is in the feeder and the sensor maybe its dirty need to be cleaned up.

I want to print on photo paper I have no idea how to start,printer is a photosmart 7450


OK, Assuming you have Photo paper loaded in your printer and your photos from your camera downloaded to a photo software program. eg Adobe Photoshop/ Serif Photoplus etc.
Bring up the photo/photos you wish to print on your photo software. eg click on the open yellow folder top left and open the fotos you want.Click 'Browse' if you don't see the ones you want. ( Open as many as you want to print.)
In order to make your prints economical you can print two or three fotos on one sheet. Click 'File', 'Print multiple' and you will see format sheets in the right pane. If you only want to print two pics on one sheet click in the right pane on the two 7 x 5 sheet or, to print three pics of the same or different pics click the sheet with three frames on it. You will now see your pictures in the right hand frame and the format sheet in the right hand frame.
Left click and hold on the pic you want and drag it into one of the boxes in the right hand frame - let go.
That pic will now appear in the box selected. you can now size it to the box it is in. If it is the right way up eg portrait in top left of a three frame page click on fit to frame to maximise picture. Click and drag another pic from the left side frame to another box in the right frame. If you have chosen the three option sheet click and drag your next foto into the bottom box on the sheet. This is a Landscape box but don't worry.
After dragging your pic into it look for an icon in the function bar along the top where, when you hover your cursor over it, says - 'rotate and fit'.(It's a square with funny corner bits!) Your pic will the be realigned to fit the the box. Having all the pics you want on the sheet click the print icon. (Picture of a printer on the tool bar.) when the print box appears click on 'Properties' and open the 'Paper/quality' tab. click the drop down box for paper and select HP Photo paper - gloss or whatever you are using. The quality will automatically set to 'Best'. Click OK and OK and the files will be transferred to your printer and it will shortly start printing your pictures.

Print out a demo sheet. Press copy and photo at the same time. If the black isn't printing on this demo sheet, (the eyes on the two kids at the top are all white), you need a new printhead. contact kodak tech support. 18004216699. Option 1

Hi-

If your product is still within the warranty period from KOdak then you can call them up for some step by step troubleshooting to help you with your problem and as well they can replace the printer if defective.

Try this first

Calibrate your printer, then print a demo sheet.
  1. If paper is in the photo paper tray, remove it.
  2. Load photo paper into the photo tray.
    1. Fan the paper to keep the sheets from sticking together. IMPORTANT: Do not overload the photo tray.
    2. Load a maximum of 20 sheets into the photo tray, with the Kodak logo facing up.
    3. Engage the photo tray by pushing it in until it stops. p289_0006aa.jpg
  3. Calibrate your printer.
    1. Press Menu.
    2. Select Calibrate Printer, then press Start.
    3. Wait for your printer to print the calibration sheet.
    4. Place the calibration sheet face down on the scanner glass.
      • For the 5300 AiO printer, place the sheet on the front right corner of the scanner glass.
      • For the 5500 AiO printer, place the sheet on the left rear corner of the scanner glass.
    5. Press Start.
    6. Wait until "Calibration complete. Remove calibration page from scanner glass. Press OK to continue." appears on the LCD display.
    7. Remove the calibration sheet from the scanner glass, then press OK.
  4. Print a demo sheet.
    1. Disengage the photo tray by sliding it towards you until it stops. When the photo tray is disengaged, the main tray is active.
    2. Select Print Demo Page, then press Start.
    3. Wait for the demo sheet to print.
