I can connect to the router on both of my computers and my ps3 but i cant connect to ther internet. also if i plug my modem into the router and then plug my computer into the router i cant connect that...

I think you will need to reconfigure the router.
You can access the Internet when you connect the computer to the modem. That means the modem is working fine.
Connect the modem to the Internet port on the router and computer to port 1 on the router. Press and hold the reset button on the rotuer for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
Follow this link to reconfigure the router.

I think you will need to reconfigure the router.
Reset the router for 30 seconds. unplug the power and plug it back in. wait for 1 minute and now try to reconfigure the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

My router doesn't detect my modem.

That means the router is not communicating with the modem.
If you connect the computer directly to the modem it works. you are online. But if you conenct the router to the modem and the computer to the router it does not work ?
I believe you will need to reconfigure the router .
Reset the router for 30 seconds. Unplug the power to the router . plug it back in. wait for 1 minute.
Not access the router set up and reconfigure the router.

Reconfiguration of Linsksys WRT54G to work on a new desktop computer

Reconfigure how?.. You leave your question very open ended. most computers just obtain the ip from the router. and really dont need to be configured.

Hi i have a lexmark all in one printer, recently i changed my router and now cant connect the printer wirelessly to the computer!

You will have to reconfigure the printer with the router and then reconfigure the PC. All routers don't have the IP address range. That might be the reason why it isnt working after changing the router. Also, if you were using the printer wirelessly, the SSID (network name) and the wireless security needs to be reconfigured to match your new router. The simplest way to achieve this would be to connect the printer hard wired to the router; uninstall the printer drivers completely from the PC; and run the setup disk again. The setup will walk you through the whole process.

Please get in touch if you need further clarifications.

I forgot my password

If you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.

To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.

Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.

To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.

LinkSys Default Password

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router.

If you have the setup CD you can just run it to your computer and let it reconfigure the router for you, but if you don't have the setup CD you need to manually configure the router by accessing its IP address using the computer that is wired directly to the router....

You don't need to reconfigure your router, but after restore you will need to set your wireless network again. You will find the info to do that here:

Reconfigure router

I seriously can't stand those motorola routers specially since they have to reboot themselves after every change.

Unplug the power from the router, hold the reset button in and plug the power back. Keep holding the reset button for 30 seconds. That should restore it back to factory settings. Plug one machine to the router and try to access the admin console. if memory serves me correctly, the user name is admin and password is motorola.
