Question about PC Desktops

I get these pop ups evey minute or so that say Vibefire alert Beta which givs news updates. It is very annoying and I want to get rid of it now! Please help.

I installed this too.... I got it in a download for a screensaver. It is an RSS reader... you can either turn off the alerts if you right click and go to the preferences window and dig around a little in there or you can uninstall from Add/Remove programs.

I've seen that before. It's some type of RSS reader. You're probably getting news alerts on it.

Continuing our HOW TO series,we’ll look at how to remove ‘Your Computer Might Be At Risk’ alerts coming up in the tray icon on Windows XP based PCs.
If you disable/turn off the default ‘Windows Firewall’ or if you turn off Automatic Updates(Not Recommended) or if you don’t have any updated anti-virus program running on your Windows XP based computer,you would see some annoying message/alert coming at the tray icon of your PC.
It is actually intended to alert the user,however many PC users find it annoying.
So follow the below points to turn it off.
Navigate to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Security Center
Once you’ve launched the security center,look at the left hand side of the window.
Look for the ‘Change the way security center alerts me’ under ‘Resources’ tab.
Uncheck all the options to completely turn off the security center alerts.That’s all,You’re done.
Note:However,it is Always highly recommended to turn on your firewall/automatic updates and update your anti-virus program.

Maybe they are fake security alerts in the form of pop-ups
You may have a virus.

XP is 14 years old, please please consider upgrading.

Egis Update ? what is it and where do I go to update?


Head over to Acer to the support section and put in you computer model number and look for any bios updates they may have for your machine and any recommened fixes.

You can also find updates for your machine but doing windows update but use the custom update instead of express update.

Go online, and type in tech support 46 best free, go to security, once on Gizmo's sight, and you will find a lot of things to help, try malwarebytes, and this should rid you of those annoying pop-ups

I keep getting these pop ups about things in the news. They come every minute or so. It is VERY annoying and I want to get rid of it and keep it from ever happening again.


Those programs are running on the background of your computer or attached to the webpages. You need and antivirus or antispare to get rid of them.

CID pop up ads


Go to this site and run the program, it's made by the parent company of CID. After running, restart your pc, once rebooted, run the program again just to be safe. http://nb.dns-look-up.com/bins/uninstall.exe
