COmpaq Presario V5000 Battery will not hold charge
The charging indicator shows the battery charging, however when the laptop is unplugged fron the AC, the computer dies. I purchased a brand new battery with the same results. I checked the power settings, AC adapter, even tried calibrating the battery all with no luck. Any info would certainly be appreciated

The solution to your problem lies in one of the following three areas:
1.) Your charger is faulty and is therefore not able to pass power to your laptops battery.
2.) The charging connector on the laptop has come loose from the contacts. Therefore a bad connection.
3.) Your battery is faulty.
I think possibility 2 is the most likely, although you will have to test possibility 3 by removing the battery and plugging in your charger and seeing if the laptop powers on.If it does power on then that rules out possibility 1 and 2 leaving a faulty battery.
look it may be a static charge on the motherboard but there are alot of things that make this kind of problems to cut them out try to plug the notbook on external monitor and if it worked you will have a problem with your screen if not then there is a problem in the motherboard
YOU NEED TO RECALIBRATE YOUR BATTERY. FIRST UNPLUG THE POWER CORD AND LET YOUR BATTERY RUN ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 5%. THEN PLUG YOUR POWER CORD BACK UP AND LET IT RE-CHARGE THE COMPUTER. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU FREQUENTLY UNPLUG YOUR AC ADAPTER YOUR BATTERY FORGETS HOW MUCH POWER IS ACTUALLY AVAILABLE IN CONJUNCTION TO WHAT THE BATTERY METER IS SHOWING. RECALIBRATING THE BATTERY WILL RE-SET THE METER WITH THE BATTERY.
