Go to start>run. Type msconfig. Click on the Services Tab. Look for lexbce server in the list. Check it if it's not started or uncheck it if it is.

Go to control panel>printers and faxes. Double-click the lexmark printer icon and check if there are documents in queue. if there are jobs waiting to be done. right click each and delete them. Wait until they are clear. If it doesnt clear out even after a long time, restart the computer. Try to print afterwards.

If this doesn't work, try adding the printer again. Go to control panel>printers and faxes. Click on 'add a printer' on the left pane. Make sure 'Automatically Detect and Install my Plug and Play Printer' is checked. It should detect the printer is it is connected and turned on. Otherwise, try connecting it to another usb port or to another computer. If possible try using another usb cable or installing a known good printer to the computer to check if the cable or printer is bad.

If power to your computer is interrupted while BIOS is being updated, your computer might not restart correctly. The Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper enables you to restart the system and recover the BIOS. To perform a Flash/BIOS recovery using the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper, use the following procedure: Before proceding, be sure to review the safety information.
  1. Turn off the computer and any attached devices, such as printers, monitors, and external drives.
  2. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets, and remove the cover.
  3. Locate the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper on the system board.
  4. If necessary, remove any adapters that impede access to the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper.
  5. Move the jumper from the standard position (pins 1 and 2) to pins 2 and 3.
  6. Replace any adapters that were removed.
  7. Replace the cover.
  8. Reconnect the power cords for the computer and monitor to electrical outlets.
  9. Insert the POST/BIOS update (flash) diskette into drive A, and turn on the computer and the monitor. The system will begin to beep.
  10. After the update session is completed, there will be no video and the series of beeps will end. Remove the diskette from the diskette drive, and turn off the computer and monitor.
  11. Unplug the power cords from electrical outlets.
  12. Remove the cover.
  13. If necessary, remove any adapters that impede access to the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper.
  14. Return the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper to its original position.
  15. Replace any adapters that were removed.
  16. Replace the cover and reconnect any cables that were disconnected.
  17. Turn on the computer to restart the operating system.
  18. You may now want to update the BIOS normally. Refer to the readme.txt file that came with your flash BIOS update.

My HP Photosmart C6380 All in one printer , won't print. It reads ink system failure. With a code 0xc19a0036 Could you tell me what might be wrong.

The product displays a '0x ... ' error message. The exact text of the error varies by product, but it is usually preceded by the word 'Error .' c01733891.gifImportant: If your error message includes the words 'ink system failure ,' check your cartridges before reading this document. If you use any of the following cartridges, refer instead to 'Ink System Failure' Message Displays on the Control Panel (c01458034) (in English) to solve this error: Solution one: Reset the product

My computer comes on with the screen saying, Internal Lan Mac Address (then numbers) Hardware monitor... More info, that's all

Hi,
This appears to be part of a generic problem possibly caused due to power surges in your area…A "soft" reset might work.

As recommended by HP on these types of errors:

1: Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on.
2. Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges.
3. Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and wait for one minute.
5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
6. Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges.
7. Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.
8. Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print a print job from the computer.

If this works, please grade the answer... If the steps don’t work I would recommend you check with HP.

(the steps highlighted above are from the support website from HP)

I need to install my lexmark X1100 on my computer and I don't have my CD. I have windows Vista.

I read on another website that the driver for the X1100 is actually listed on Lexmark site as the X1110. Worth trying it www.lexmark.co.uk the 'drivers & downloads' 'driver finder'.

Failing that go to www.driverguide.com You can download from there. You have to register but am pretty sure it's still a free site.

Can you rate me if this is helpful. Thanks Jenny

I lost my installation cd for lexmark x1100 series, scanner and printer. How can I get installation online?

You can download the drivers from the Company website or look at www.download.com. But if your PC is running Windows XP or Vista, they'll detect the device as soon as you plug them.

go through control panel/system/device manager, and see if the USB ports(should be at bottom) are good or not.

if not, remove them all

use scan for new hardware at top

see how that works.
