Question about Amana Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Amana GUIC070A30 furnace won't run. Air conditioning functions but no heat. Reset thermostat, set to heat & bumped up temp to 90F. Thermostat clicks & nothing happens after that. I have covers off unit & with therm set as stated I get a flash (not continuous or pulsed) on the ICM diag LED & I can hear the trans hum. I did the full startup procedure from the manual. Has 115VAC & 24VAC trans working. ICM 3A fuse good. Any suggestions?

Model sf35f furnace wont quit heating after reaching thermostat setting

Sounds like the heat anticipator in your thermostat is either bad or out of adjustment. Turn of the furnace power. Remove the thermostat wires from the thermostat. Turn the power back on. Connect the white and red wires together. The furnace should start up. Let it run a couple of minutes. Then disconnect the wires. The burners should shut off immediately. The blower will continue to run for 60 to 360 seconds then shut off. If this happens replace your thermostat. If the burners continue to burn, then your problem is either the furnace or the thermostat wires.

What happen when your hvac blows cold air and the heat is set at 73

Sounds like you have a thermostat problem. If your thermostat is not triggering the furnace to ON/HEAT you will not the heat you desire. IF you know how to trigger the furnace you could jump your furnace controller wires BUT DON'T do this. Instead, get another thermostat and try it. But be sure to get the same rated thermostat... take it with you when looking for a replacement.
Not sure about everything going on with your unit based upon what you provided but your thermostat should show the current temp and the temp you set. It also show the mode that the thermostat is in (HEAT / COOL / AUTO) Manually select heat, then increase temp above the current temp setting. listen for furnace to activate or wait a few minutes for warm air output. If not, you'll have to see assistance trom a local heating and cooling company.

I just purchased a house with brand new furnace wired to a RTH2300 Honeywell thermostat. It only has two wires running to it. I can't seem to get it to work in "manual mode"-where I set it on...

?? Connect Wires 5.

Labels don't match?

If a wire does not match any terminal on the thermostat,

see next page.

Alternate Wiring

If a labeled wire does not match any terminal

designation, see diagram below.

Do not use C, C1 or X wire. Do not use B wire if you already

have O wire. Wrap bare end of wire with electrical tape.

This thermostat cannot be used if your old thermostat had

any two of the following wires: R, RC, RH, 4 and V.

Place a jumper (piece of wire) between Y and W if you have

a heat pump without auxiliary/back-up heat.

?? Connect Wires (cont'd)

Set jumper JP1, on the back of the thermostat, if you

have connected a wire to the G terminal.

Incorrect jumper setting: An incorrect setting is

noticeable in a gas or oil heating system. When heating

starts, you will initially feel cold air coming out of the vents

as the fan is running before the furnace has enough time

to heat up the air.

?? Set Heating Fan Control 6.

HG Leave the jumper in this factory-set

position if you have a gas or oil furnace.

HE Place the jumper to this position if you

have an electric furnace.

8

Set jumper JP2, on the back of the thermostat, if you

have a heat pump.

Incorrect jumper setting: The heat pump operation

will be reversed, i.e., it will cool in Heat mode and will

heat in Cool mode.

?? Set Heat Pump Reversing Valve 7.

O Leave the jumper in this factory-set

position if you have connected O wire to

the O/B terminal.

B Place the jumper to this position if you

have connected B wire to the O/B terminal.

1) Install 2 AAA

thermostat.

2) Align the two

brackets on the

top of the

thermostat with

the corresponding

slots on the top of

the wallplate.

3) Push the

4) Tighten the screw

at the bottom of

5) Turn power back

I can't get my furnace fan to stop running-even in the off position

Your thermostat has AUTO and MANUAL for fan Make sure it is set for AUTO. If it is set for AUTO and the heat is off and cooled down AND the fan still runs then that will be a bad relay. If yours is newer then the board will need to be replaced. If yours is an older model you may need to replace the fan and limit switch8fe474e.jpgThis mechanical switch works on rise in plenum temp. It turns on the fan a around 110 f and it shuts down the fan at 90f. Newer furnaces use timers and relay on the IC board.

Amana PGD60C1152E no heat

Your thermostat Function 0170 must be set to "1" for Single Stage Heat/Cool. Function 0180 must be set for "0" for Heating Fan Control. Function 0240 must be set for "5" for the Heating Cycle Rate for your <90% Gas Furnace. If you have already done these steps or if, after doing these steps, you continue to experience a problem, you problem could be with your Gas Furnace. I'm including some links for information on your system and thermostat that include wiring diagrams.

Heat temperature issues with Goodman GMP 100-4 furnace

69,000 btuh is adequate for a 12-1400 square foot house.
Otherwise, your thermostat simply tells the furnace to cycle on/off.
If it calls for heat and does not come on, the problem is with switches and relays within the furnace.
Your setting the temp higher only causes the other parts to keep trying until they finally light and heat.
This is based on your information saying it will cycle on and blow cool air--not hot air.
You will have several temperature variations from floor to ceiling.
You probably have ceiling vents as well.
You need a technician to verify the rollout switches, fan relay, inducer fan etc. if the furnace is not firing everytime you call for heat.
