Well, that's brill, it works now lol, but the strange thing is, if I want it to go left, it goes right, and vice versa, if I want it to go up, it goes down and vice versa???
Oh please, do you know the answer to this too.
Thanx sooooo much

Hey I have the same model and let me tell you i find the touch pad to be a pain in the rear.

if you hold the Fn button down and press F7 it should enable it or disable it you will see it on the screen if that does not work let me know it could either be a driver issue or a hardware issue.

but we will look into that further once thats been tried

You could go back to the control panel

start
control panel
mouse

Acer Aspire PC Notebook 5315 touchpad not working.

Hey in the control panel, go to the mouse, then look for the properties that have a PS/2 compatible mouse, you can change its settings there by sellecting other compatible mouse instead of PS/2, and also there is a settings or a check box that says the onboard mouse of your laptop will be disable if a usb mouse will be pluged.hope it soved your problem, :)

Cursor continually jumps all over when trying to type

Touch pad mouse.
This unit has a "seamless touchpad with four-way integrated scroll button".
Yours is probably faulty, causing the cursor to be random.
Try disabling it and connecting a USB mouse.

Aspire 5315 touchpad not working

Try and attach a USB mouse. Then uninstall the driver. restart your computer and reinstall the driver. Also clean with some spray to make sure there is no dirt which is causing the problem.

Thanks

Cursor is frozen and can;t move on my laptop

Plug in a USB mouse, and go to Contol Panel>system>device manager and click on the +sign next to pointing devices. Right click touchpad and uninstall the touchpad, then reboot the computer, remove the usb mouse. Windows will pick up the touchpad as new hardware and re-install the drivers for it etc..

I hope this helps

LAPTOP MOUSE

Hello cutiebabe45,
The default input device is the touchpad. However, if you want to install a mouse on Acer Aspire 5315 I would strongly reccomend the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0. I've been using this mouse since last christmas and I'm very pleased with it. Installation is real easy and instructions are easy to understand. If this helps, please let me know. Here's a link an article that describes the Microsoft Wireless Mouse in more detail:
