Computer very slow

If your problem is that your computer is very slow and you have upgraded your memory to the maximum, then you should concentrate on cleaning up and optimising the Windows file system.

Download and install the following utility programs that can help you to improve the performance of your computer.

Advanced System Care Free - run the Deep Care option of this utility.
DiskMax - run a Detailed Scan and let it clean up all profiles, updates, cache etc.
Smart Defrag - run a Defrag and Fast Optimize
CCleaner - use this to compliment the above plus use the Tools Uninstall option to remove any unwanted software programs, browser tool bars etc. Also use the Tools Startup option to disable any of the programs being started on every boot that don't need to be, i.e. things like QuickTime, Adobe Reader.

Hello. I have a desktop DELL OPTIPLEX GX240 BIOS revision AO3. And Windows xp professional sp3. I have a problem is when i on the computer, until windows start need to wait too long time . Around i need to...

The problem unfortunately lies with your computer system. Your computer system is not able to cope with the applications that it has to load at Windows Start up. Each time Windows loads it has to load all of your appliactions set to load at Windows start-up.

What you need to do is to remove/uninstall all applications/programs that you do not use.
Once you have done this then you can proceed to the next step, which is to deselect those programs that you do not need to load, on start-up.

See my published guides below to decrease the boot time of your computer system:

When i am shut down my windows 7, the loading is very long it want to repair but i don't have a software in disc so i need your help, please

This may be because your hardware of your computer is not able to cope with the demands of Windows 7 especially when it come to laptops. Laptops use slower RPM hard drives and slower processors, so it is common to find that a laptop is slow. Keep your applications down to a minimum and keep your anti-virus software up to date. Run a virus scan, it is possible that you PC is slowing down because of a virus infection. Run the disk defragmentor program, this will ensure that all files are put together and your computer doesn't have to spend time to search for the files it needs. Run msconfig, navigate to the start up tab, you may find programs that you don't need at start up, for experienced users only. If you want to repair windows then I recommend sending it to a computer technician.

All the best!

Having freeze up and very slow loading of programs

I have EXACT same computer. Are you running WIN 7? It works great! Have you cleared out the temp folder? users/(your name)/appdata/local/temp. Empty as much as you can in this folder. Its only a temp folder. How about clearing the browser cache? Have you run disk defragmenter? Theres alot you can do. Clean out the cookies. INSTALL more MEMORY. I have 4GB RAM in mine. Open the box and Clean it with pressurized air. BLOW out that dust! It holds in the heat, which defeats the heat sinks sole purpose! Hope this helps.

The dvd drive randomly starts loading when there is nothing in the dvd drive. Why is it loading nothing?

Are you by any chance playing a game when this happens? Or running a program that is able to open dvd's or cd's? Can be a few causes for this, will need more info.

I have trouble loading CDs. There is a place to

Make sure you are placing the CDs in the drive with the label side up. If the computer can read DVDs, it can certainly read CDs as well. Once the cd is inserted, wait and the autoplay should start the installation program for the software.

Compaq Evo w6000 worksation slow while coping

it always takes longer when you use a USB connection. if you have the option for firewire cable, then it will be faster. It will also go faster if you exit out of all running programs. for example chats that are running, and other programs that run by your clock that you are not using. like adobe, photo shop, and other misc applications.

Error Message 'F:\ setup.exe is not a valid win32 application'

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities.
  1. File is corrupt, bad, or missing.
  2. File is not designed for your version of Windows.
  3. File is a virus, worm, or other malware file.
  4. Hardware incompatibility.
Answer: File is corrupt, bad, or missing
If the file or program you're attempting to run is corrupt or missing, Windows will be unable to execute the file properly and sometimes generate this error message.
Download files
If you downloaded this file and verified it is complete and compatible with your version of Windows, delete the file and try downloading and running it again. It's possible during the download that the file became corrupted.
Finally, if the second download does not work, try downloading the file from a different webpage. It is possible that the person or company maintaining the website mistakenly uploaded a corrupt version of the file you're attempting download.
Installing a program from a CD or other disk
If you're attempting to install a program and are getting this error, verify that the CD is clean. If the CD is dirty or bad, you could get this error during the install and/or get this error after the program has been installed because it was not copied properly onto the computer.
  • Additional information about cleaning a CD can be found on our cleaning page.
Running a program from the computer
If you're running the program from a shortcut on the computer, verify that the program is still on the computer. In some cases if the program is no longer installed on the computer you may get this error.
If the hard disk drive is corrupted or bad it can also cause working programs to fail either because not all the data can be read from the hard disk drive or because the program has become corrupted while on the drive. Run scandisk and defrag on the hard disk drive to check for any potential errors.
Long file name issue
Make sure the program or file you're attempting to run does not contain the same name as the long file name directory it is contained in. For example, executing a file named "program" in the "program files" directory can cause errors in some versions of Windows.
Additionally, if you're attempting to install a program and after the install the program does not work, you may also want to try installing the program in a different directory.
Bad file
Any file can be changed or renamed to be a .exe file. If you're downloading the file, make sure the file is supposed to be a .exe file and that it's not being changed. If you're attempting to create a .exe, file make sure you're compiling the file for Windows and never just rename a file to a .exe file. For example, renaming a .bat file to a .exe file will not make the file an executable file. For a file to become an executable file it needs to either be compiled or converted through a software program designed to convert the file.
File is not designed for your version of Windows
If you're trying to run a program that is not designed for your version of Windows you may get this error. Although many older programs designed to work in older versions of Windows will work with new versions of Windows, unfortunately, not all programs will work.
  • If the program is an older MS-DOS program or early Windows program you may get this error.
  • If the program is designed for a 64-bit version of Windows and you're running it in a 32-bit version of Windows, it will not work and generate this error.

I have PORTEGE 600 and not able to play DVD, getting error "video memory low for DVD playback"

Check the amount of ram in Ur system. Recommend 512 Mb or more. Look under the control panel - system - device hardware and see if the DVD is installed correct. (No yellow or red markers).
If there are, uninstall the DVD, keep connected, and reboot. When it detects the DVD, use the cd to load driver only.

Problem with wireless connection

trying going to run and typing "msconfig.exe" then choose the tab that says "startup" and uncheck everything then choose apply it will ask you to restart your computer and go ahead and restart

sounds like some program is trying to override your wireless, running the msconfig stops programs from loading up when windows does so if it is a program it wont load when windows restarts
