Question about Nikon Coolpix 5600 Digital Camera

Flash? I guess it's not really a problem, more of a question but I have a Nikon Coolpix 5600 camera. Can you turn the flash off? And if so how?

Simple problem: how di i turn the flash off on the nikon coolpix

Press the flash button (Up on the multiselector). This gets you a menu with five choices: Auto, Auto with red-eye reduction, Off, Fill flash, and Slow sync. Select the one you want (eventually, you're going to want to turn the flash back on) and press OK.

It sounds like you've got the self-timer on by mistake. If you've got a copy of the manual, you can see how to turn it off/on on page 26. Alternatively, you can download it here:

Slow record time/goes into standby mode

Hi,

It sounds as if it is working mechanically, but there is a software fault.

Try downloading a new driver for it (or use the CD which you may still have)

They are available free Here.

(Please contact again if this does not solve the issue; If it does, Please rata as Fixya! so others may benefit. Thanks.)

it is probably a camera shake problem. Consider using a tripod. Also, using higher ISO helps..Using flash helps too.

How old is the camera? Take a new approach to Nikon. But costs are about right- it is no joke.

Camera switches itself off after flash !

Use your warranty ASAP. I heard of 5600's that have problems with the flash - long recharge time, turning off after taking a picture, etc. This is not a setting thing you can adjust, or anything that you caused yourself, but a lemon. Take it back to the shop and ask for a replacement, and in no way agree to pay for a repair, it's not your fault. Good luck
