I have a paper jam in the fuser/paper exit area that accordianed up. I was able to remove half of it, but the remaining is neither accessible from inside the copier or from the receiving tray. I can see parts of the paper from the receiving tray but can not get to it . It still prints paper, but there is an indentation and a smear. I am concerned that I am ruining a fuser roller. Is there anything I can do, or is this a service man's problem

If you can't get to it, and do not want to further disassemble the unit, it would be best to turn it over to a qualified service person

I have a Canon imageclass D880 multifunction, error"Paper Jam, slide platen..." I can see the paper deep within the machine ( fuser?) but cannot get to it to get it out.

Hi marcbachm177,

Please follow the steps below on how to remove paper jams inside printers in hard-to-reach places, a pair of medical forceps is often useful.

1. Take off 3 plastic covers one above exit area-slide top to left to access screw. Remove lower exit cover and side cover -unsnaps with 2 pins and there is one more cover I think over the fan that needs to come off.

2.Locate black plastic sheet covering a circuit board carefully pull this back-disconnect 3 plastic connectors that lead from the heater to the circuit board.

3. Using a offset phillips #2 screwdriver remove 3 screws that hold the fuser to the frame.

4. Carefully lift fuser up and out toward the exit area.

5. Pop off black cover remove 2 screws from top of fuser, disengage cover lid locks with a small screwdriver, lift upper fuser heater - be careful NOT to damage plastic heater membrane. remove paper jam and reassemble.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

How do you remove a paper jam at the site where the paper exits the printer (causing an accordian-style fold)

Turn off and unplug the machine you can open the front door open the exit side where the paper exits out gently remove paper the issue is caused by the upper fuser claws on the fuser unit they are worn you will need to replace them or replace the fuser unit assembly as other internal parts in the fuser may also be worn like the rollers
This should be done by a trained certified engineer

WHEN YOU TURN OF MACHINE MAKE SURE TO OPEN DOORS AND WAIT A FEW HOURS SO THE FUSER AREA CAN COOL DOWN CAUTION THE FUSER AREA IS VERY HOT

Paper jam in a Xerox Comy Centre C20

A couple of things.
There is a bushing at the front of the exit transport that fall out of the frame. That requires removing the scanner and looking in the exit transport that way.
You may also have something stuck in that transport. Take the fuser back out and then take a minella folder and push it through from above the fuser to the output area and see if it disloges anything. If not, then you have to pull the scanner off and look in that exit transport area for problems.

Paper jam

We had this same problem. You need the back cardboard section of a legal pad. Take out the cartridge and slide the back of the cardboard slowly into the rollers, pushing it out the end where the paper comes out. This helps push the paper jam out. You may have to do this several times slowly to get the jammed paper out. But it worked for us!
