I just read your response to a post on FixYa from July. I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-700HD and am also experiencing the same problem with a blown 5A 125V fuse on the Power Supply Assembly. A service tech wanted to just replace the Power supply assembly but I haven't agreed to that yet. Total cost would be almost $800 including parts and labor. After seeing your post, I was hoping that you helped isolate the component that was blowing the fuse. I also talked with Mr Bob from the AVS forums and he suggested that it might be a problem with the convergence IC. I have not purchased the service manuals yet and wondered if they would be of help.

Re: Power problem on Pioneer Pro-700HD
The failure is not on the power supply but the convergence amplifiers STKICs have the 24 volts shorted.
If that fuse is blowing, de-solder the convergence ICs and put a new fuse to power up the TV; you should see distorted video when the TV powers up and the fuse should not blow.
The service manual migth not help much in this case since the failure is easy to pin point.

Thanks for trying… partstore.com was actually the website that I originally tried ordering from. I feel lame for not including that tidbit of info on my original post because I didn't want to give that site a bad rap. After a bit more reasearch I discovered this site: http://www.highreflectivemirrors.com/ they carry the replacement for only $120 with free shipping and with only a few clicks I purchased it via PayPal. I am currently awaiting delivery and will post again if for some reason it doesn't work out.
We are having the same problem of the Pioneer Elite Pro-99 turning itself off all of a sudden. The red 'non' power button comes on as if we had turned it off remotely. We would love to resolve this. If you can help let us know.
My set is doing the same thing again. The last time I fixed this (4 years ago) it was a capacitor gone bad in the power supply for the 24v standby circuit. (C166)
The service manuals can be ordered directly from Pioneer Part Number ARP3014 for Pro-100 model.
I am still awaiting someone to give me advice on how to proceed, or where I can go to get help. I have contacted Star Electronics here in Suwanee and the owner, Nafiz came out and took my chassis back to the shop with him. His prices are very reasonable and he is really pleasant to work with. I hope it all works out. Please keep me informed if you have any other suggestions.
