Keep pushing F10 when computer is booting up. Should start up recovery. Put in recovery disc while computer is starting up.

Need HP Pavillion a6120n recovery discs

Check in your users manual as a recovery partition usually exists hidden on the hard drive. You should be able to use this to either create recovery discs or to restore directly from the hidden partition. But you do need HP instructions on how to make this happen correctly. I suggest you visit the HP website, select technical support as a destination. From there you will be asked for your computer model number and offered a number of options that should make things easier.
Good Luck!

Operating system not found

  1. Check physical hard drive connections, by disconnecting power, opening case, and reconnecting power and SATA cable at the hard drive.
  2. If problem persists, check BIOS by pressing Function key during initial boot to get into setup. The correct F key is one of the first things displayed on startup. Make sure hard drive is listed and is 1st device in boot order.
  3. At this point a recovery / installation disc is required.

Need to run HP PC System Recovery on Pavillion a775c. Files corrupted - fixing this older computer for a friend. No virus protection. Only one user account (the administrator). Cannot start any program...

One way but its drastic, you could replace the Hard Drive. It makes me think that it might be the hard drive because windows cannot boot from the drive. Its pretty easy to replace a hard drive, then run the system recovery disc.

My husband just gave me his HP pavillion m7350n and it has alot of programs i dont want. What is the easies way of go back to the stuff that came with the HP. I guess i want to know how to do a recovery is...

Most systems come with a recovery drive on their hard disk. Smone times it takes the last drive letter before the CD-ROM drive. If that is the case with you, locate the drive by
1. Double click my computer icon on your desktop
2 Locate the drive that has the recovery data
3 Run the recovery
Make sure you read the instratuctions on the sreen and follow the steps you are asked to follow on the recovery wizard.

This will retore your PC to the factory setting.
But note that most factory seting come with evalution copies of original software like Microsoft Office, etc you may need to get the licenses for these software after the retore to make them genuie.

Want to restore HP Pavillion 505 N computer back to original

To do a system recovery without recovery disks (not all machines can perform this without recovery disks) press the power button and immediately keep tapping the F10 button until you enter the recovery console.

If unsuccessful, you will need to boot using the recovery disks that came with the machine.
  1. Place the first disk in the 1st CD tray (some machines may have multiple CD/DVD drives) and start up.
  2. Start the machine and immediately press ESC button to enter BIOS
  3. Select the drive the recovery CD is in
  4. Press Enter
  5. Once the machine boots off the recovery disk it will provide several options
  6. Press R for a standard recovery
  7. Press F for a "destructive" recovery (will wipe out and format hard drive)
  8. Press Q to quit
Once you've made your selection, the recovery process will automatically proceed. It may ask for additional recovery disks which have more software.

NOTE: if you are currently able to boot into the machine prior to recovery you should go in and back up any pertinent files. Both recovery options will wipe out personal files.

A link to this information has been provided below. Best of luck.

How to get to recovery partition when booting up HP Pavillion MX

The same problem happened to me today on my hp Pavillion a1600n.
Try pressing the F10 key as the computer is powering on. This may allow the computer to access the recovery partition on the hard disk. If you get that far, then you can restore the user partition from the recovery partition. If it is like the a1600n, then you can do a restore of all the content and either leave your own data files intact, or, have it reformat the user partition and then you WILL have to restore all the data files. In either case, you will likely need to reinstall any applications that were added AFTER you got the PC. (Or, in my case, some apps were still kinda working...).

If F10 does not work, you may be able to create a PC Recovery Tools CD from a different hp XP machine, and boot that CD. During part of that boot up process you may get the opportunity to run the Recovery program.

Hope that helps!
